Abstract: A polymer which comprises recurring units derived from at least one monomer (M) having a general formula (I) Y1—Z1-Q-Z2—Y2 wherein Y1 and Y2, equal or different from each other, are independently selected from a group consisting of OH, SH, Cl, Br, NO2 or I; Z1 and Z2, equal or different from each other, independently comprises at least 1 aromatic ring and, Q comprises at least one hydrophilic moiety (H) selected from the group consisting of a sulfone (SO2), a ketone (CO), a phosphine oxide (PO), an ether, a thioether, an ester, an anhydride, a carbonate, an amide, an imide, an imine and an urethane group, and the interatomic distance between Y1 and Y2 is at least 10 ?, the monomer has an EC50 response value to the estrogen receptor a (ER?) equal to or at least 26000 nM.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for the automatic insertion of hypertext links into a passage or document of encoded text is disclosed. A program, resident on a personal computer, for example, receives and parses input text in HTML format. In a first part of the processing, label strings identifying each paragraph number are located in the read in document. These are converted into an unambiguous format. Next, the text is re-read, with the paragraphs/section headers masked off, to locate text strings within the body of the text which cross-reference the section headers, or term definitions, or external links. These are also placed in an unambiguous format. Finally, the cross-references are matched up as far as possible with section/paragraph headers and the original HTML text is marked up automatically with hyperlinks, using the unambiguous section labels and cross-references as HTML anchors and destinations.

Abstract: Impact-modified polyphthalamide resins are improved in ductility and rigidity when blended with polypropylene and a carboxylated polyolefin resin. The blends exhibit an excellent balance of ductility and rigidity.

Abstract: Filled and unfilled polyamide compositions of improved toughness comprise a blend of a polyamide comprising recurring aliphatic terephthalamide units, a functionalized polyolefin and a functionalized block copolymer comprising styrene polymer blocks and rubber blocks comprising ethylene/propylene ethylene/butylene or ethylene/pentylene polymer blocks or a combination thereof.
