  • Patent number: 6100793
Abstract: 1. An integrated vehicle and building alarm system for protecting at least one vehicle located adjacent a building, comprising at least one vehicle alarm device, located within the vehicle, having means for detecting an intrusion into the vehicle, means for producing an audible alert in response to said intrusion, and means for activating an alarm signal when said intrusion occurs. The system also comprises a building alarm device having a plurality of input ports corresponding to a number of protected zones, the device is located within the building and has means for detecting the alarm signal on the input ports. In addition, the device has means for generating an alert signal when an alarm signal occurs. A junction box, having at least one input port and at least one output port, is located inside the building. An attachment cable is electrically connected between the vehicle alarm device and the input port of the junction box.

  • Patent number: 5766677
Abstract: A process for imprinting viewing fields on a cover glass is disclosed. First, the cover glass is annealed. A grid is then placed on the annealed cover glass. The grid has small openings which define the viewing fields. The annealed cover glass with a grid thereon is then coated with a thin film of an inert metal which can adhere to glass. The thin film is applied by way of a high vacuum coating method or a sputtering method. The grid is then removed from the coated cover glass. The coated cover glass is particularly useful in the preparation of microscope slides of filters having asbestos fibers or the like deposited thereon. A portion of the filter, which is smaller than the cover glass, is cut. The cut portion of the filter is placed onto either the coated cover glass or the microscope slide to form a filter combination. The filter combination is then cleared with a clearing solution. The filter combination is then fixed to the microscope slide or cover glass by means of a fixative.

  • Patent number: 4299624
Abstract: In treating cast iron with magnesium to produce nodular iron, a capsule of heat-resistant material, closed except for calibrated limited access passages, containing the magnesium, is plunged into a bath of molten metal in a tall vertical ladle while the latter is capped by a hood to contain the violent reaction resulting. An elevating mechanism lowers and raises the hood and capsule and plunges and withdraws the capsule while the hood caps the ladle. The mechanism includes a plunging rod carrying the capsule and means for maintaining the rod in a fixed radial position relative to its axis and for restraining it against the force of the reaction.
