  • Patent number: 5859541
Abstract: A data processor has at least one output terminal which a user of the data processor can vary the output impedance thereof depending upon the application environment of the data processor. A first output buffer of an output buffer stage has a predetermined output impedance and is coupled between an input of the stage and the output terminal. The first output buffer provides a first output terminal impedance. A second output buffer having a lower output impedance than the first output buffer may be selectively coupled in parallel to the first output buffer to reduce the output impedance of the output terminal. The coupling of the output buffers is controlled by a user of the data processor who provides a control input for selecting one of a plurality of predetermined output terminal impedance values.

  • Patent number: 5312464
Abstract: A gas and liquid contact body for use in a gas and liquid contact apparatus in which gas and liquid flow in cross-flow relationship to each other includes a plurality of corrugated sheets having opposed first and second edge which are facially opposed in substantially parallel relationship to one another to define a plurality of intersecting and intercommunicating passages allowing the passage of gas and liquid therethrough. The first edges of the sheets are located generally in the same plane and define a gas inlet edge of the contact body. Alternate sheets in the body are narrower from their first to their second edges than the remainder of the sheets in the body. The second edges of the sheets define an air outlet portion in the body wherein the second edges of the alternate sheets define spaces between the wider adjacent sheets at said outlet portion.

  • Patent number: 5013492
Abstract: A contact body for liquid and gas, primarily for cooling towers, the body comprising at least two separate contact body packs supported one upon the other and defining an interface therebetween, the packs each being formed of a plurality of formed sheets positioned in contact with each other and defining passages therebetween. The packs are positioned such that their sheets extend at an angle to one another; the sheets in the packs each having edge portions at the interface, and selected sheets in each pack having their edge portions at the interface offset with respect to the remaining sheets, whereby enlarged passageway segments are formed at the interface.
