  • Patent number: 8291935
Abstract: Each of plurality of gas sources flows to a different one of a plurality of separate source gas flow paths. Then, a source gas is distributed directly from each of plurality of separate source gas flow paths to a plurality of separate gas mixture flow paths, thereby distributing a plurality of source gases to each of different flow paths. A plurality of separate gas mixture streams is generated by flowing a plurality of source gases in each of a plurality of separate gas mixture flow paths. In some embodiments, each of a plurality of separate source gas flow paths comprises a gas distribution duct, and each of a plurality of gas mixture flow paths comprises a gas mixing conduit. In some embodiments, a gas distribution duct includes a plurality of gas distribution ports and a gas source port connectable to a gas source. In some embodiments, a gas mixing conduit comprises a plurality of gas inlet holes, a gas mixing region, and a gas outlet hole.

  • Publication number: 20060201662
Abstract: A baffle for a heat exchanger tube extending between opposed header pipes. The baffle is a longitudinal member with a concave underside shape conforming to the convex circumferential shape of the heat exchanger tube, and has a length substantially equal to the distance between the header pipes. A lip having a convex top side shape conforming to the concave underside shape of the longitudinal member extends along one longitudinal edge of the member. Two such members can be nested together by overlaying the non-lipped longitudinal edge of a one member atop the lipped longitudinal edge of the other member. A plurality of longitudinally aligned heat vent slits extend substantially the entire length of an uppermost portion of the member.

  • Patent number: 6998440
Abstract: Novel stretch and blown films are prepared based on copolymers of ethylene and alpha-olefins having (a) a density in the range 0.900 to 0.940 (b) an apparent Mw/Mn of 2–3.4 (c) I21/I2 from 16 to 24 (d) activation energy of flow from 28 to 45 kJ/mol (e) a ratio Ea(HMW)/Ea(LMW)>1.1, and (f) a ratio g?(HMW)/g?(LMW) from 0.85 to 0.95. The films exhibit an excellent combination of strength and processability and are particularly suitable for use as either stretch films or blown films for use as heavy duty sacks. The preferred films show a dart impact of >1100 g and MD elongations of >500%.

  • Patent number: 5348240
Abstract: A storage device for electrical extension cords includes a substantially elongated hollow tubular member having hollow end caps at either end from which extend winding arms. The winding arms are adapted to have an electrical extension cord or the like wrapped around them to form a coil of wire along the elongated body member between the arms. At one end of the first end member there is a rotatable hook for mounting the entire assembly including an extension cord. Along the body of the elongated member are two clamps for holding the plugs at either end of the extension cord in place. The plug clamps are movable longitudinally along the body of the elongated member to allow for adjustment for different lengths of extension cord. A tubular extension member is partially mounted internally of the elongated member such that it may move in or out of the body of the elongated member to form an adjustable support for positioning against the ground during winding.

  • Patent number: 4013927
Abstract: A surge arrester for protecting telephone lines and the like from overvoltage has opposed carbon electrodes separated by an insulating spacer that houses one of the electrodes and provides a means for spacing the electrodes to define the arc gap therebetween. The other electrode has one round plateau with a flat end surface that defines one side of the gap. The plateau is surrounded by a valley structure which provides a maximum of relief or cavity space for carbon particles that erupt from the electrodes during discharge. The cavity space is used for venting erupted particles across the end of the spacer and thereby provides an increase in the surge life of the arrester.

  • Patent number: 3933643
Abstract: Conductive filter elements are made by treating nonconductive fibrous materials such as inorganic or organic fibers with resins containing finely divided carbon. The treated fibers are then fabricated into filter elements which are electrically conductive throughout. Strands of roving or yarn which are nonconductive may be joined by twisting together with strands of conductive roving or yarn to give conductivity to the finished multiple strand. Conductive filter elements are also made from extruded fibers which are filled with carbonaceous material during extrusion. These elements permit grounding of static electrical potential which would otherwise accumulate in a nonconductive element. If desired, a controlled low potential direct or alternating electrical charge can be maintained on the filter element to enhance the separation of particles of opposite charge. Particulate filter media, such as that used in filter beds, may also be treated with carbon to form an electrically conductive filter mass.
