Patent number: 8590515Abstract: Described are methods and systems for powering an Otto-cycle engine using gasoline and compressed natural gas (CNG). The Otto-cycle engine can be powered by determining a quantity of the gasoline and a quantity of the CNG to deliver to a cylinder of the engine during an engine cycle such that combustion within the cylinder occurs at a pre-determined air-fuel ratio; delivering the quantity of the gasoline to the cylinder via a gasoline injector and delivering the quantity of the CNG to the cylinder via a CNG injector such that the gasoline and the CNG combust during the same combustion event; and combusting the gasoline and the CNG within the cylinder. Delivering CNG and gasoline to the cylinder using separate injectors allows the quantities of CNG and gasoline to vary in response to engine operating conditions, which allows the fuel mixture to be adjusted to satisfy engine power and emissions criteria.Type: GrantFiled: May 30, 2012Date of Patent: November 26, 2013Assignee: The Saskatchewan Research CouncilInventors: Kimberley Allan Young, Quan Wan, Anton Robert Darcey Farber, Michael Theodore Sulatisky, Nathan Oliver Peter, Sheldon George Hill

Publication number: 20130066794Abstract: The system and method described herein may securely disseminate and manage postal rate information, including discount or custom postal rates established in contractual agreements negotiated between a postal service and certain mailers, among other postal rate types. For example, the postal service may upload postal rates to a server associated with a postage vendor and optionally associate the postal rates with particular mailers. The postal service and/or postage vendor may then validate whether the postal rates were correctly uploaded, and the postage vendor may then enable applicable mailers to utilize the postal rates in response to validating that the postal rates were correctly uploaded. Additionally, the postage vendor may maintain records relating to postage transactions, which a mailer can use to support a request to negotiate the custom postal rates with the postal service and subsequently prove compliance with any terms and conditions associated therewith.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 9, 2011Publication date: March 14, 2013Applicant: PSI Systems, Inc.Inventors: George Hill, Richard Hernandez

Patent number: 8286587Abstract: A sectional animal feeder including an external frame assembly having a base, a series of adjustable spaced openings, and a series of panels. The sectional feeder further includes a movable internal frame assembly having a series of spaced openings, a series of panels and a drive system adapted to engage and move the internal frame assembly relative to the external frame assembly between a closed and opened position. A safety gating assembly may be mounted to the external frame assembly and may include a biased gate adapted to engage the animal during the moving of the movable internal frame assembly to a closed position. The sectional feeder also includes a Pavlovian response signal system having a timed auditory signal. The activation of the drive assembly moves the movable internal frame assembly whereby the series of spaced openings align with the series of adjustable space opening of the external panel and coincides with the timed auditory signal allowing access to the feeder.Type: GrantFiled: November 23, 2009Date of Patent: October 16, 2012Inventors: Roy Paul Sladkowski, David George Hill
