  • Publication number: 20030229178
Abstract: This invention relates to phenolic-modified rosin terpene resins prepared by the reaction of a rosin, a terpene and a phenol, wherein the weight ratio of rosin to phenol is from about 2.00 to about 3.00 and wherein the weight ratio of rosin to terpene is from about 1.40 to about 2.40. The phenolic-modified rosin terpene resins of this invention can be used as tackifers to form hot melt adhesives that can be applied at low application temperatures and more preferably hot melt adhesives also having high heat resistance and good cold adhesion.

  • Patent number: 4725575
Abstract: Silicone rubber matrices are used to contain and dispense volatile, organic liquids. The articles, as dispensors are improved by the use of silicone rubber matrices prepared by the curing of silicone fluids selected from the group consisting of polydiphenylsiloxane, polymethylphenylsiloxane, polymethyl-3,3,3-trifluoropropylsiloxane and a polydimethylsiloxane wherein 5% or more of the methyl groups of the polydimethylsiloxane are replaced by phenyl or polar aliphatic groups. Higher loadings of the organic liquid into the rubber matrix are achieved without syneresis occurring.

  • Patent number: 4703070
Abstract: Silicone rubber matrices are used to contain and dispense volatile, organic liquids. The articles, as dispensors are improved by the addition of a compatibilizing agent to reduce migration of the organic liquid out of the matrix in the form of liquid drops or films. Higher loadings of the organic liquid into the rubber matrix are achieved without syneresis occurring.
