  • Publication number: 20150321020
Abstract: A data collection device (100) is described which monitors the environmental conditions and the operations of a medical device (10). The data collection device may be arranged to communicate wirelessly via a cloud computing environment with a central computer (210). The central computer compares the reported use data with a preventive maintenance model to predict when or how the medical device will fail. In addition, the central computer may integrate reports from many data collection devices operating in various environments for the purpose of analyzing and improving the predictive maintenance model.

  • Patent number: 8871659
Abstract: A temporary ground covering for displacement on sandy, muddy or boggy ground. The covering includes a woven structure formed of warp and weft. The weave is such that each warp thread interlaces with the weft thread, following approximately half the intersections of the rows and columns of the weave. The warp thread is left in the remaining intersections for each warp thread to obtain at least one simple tight weave area followed by an area of floats. The alternation of the different areas causes contractions of the weft thread creating a significant relief of the obtained fabric. The covering includes flat threads over at least one part of the width of the woven structure on at least one of the surfaces. Each thread is taken, steadily or not, by weft threads placed at the end of the projections of the woven surface structure.

  • Publication number: 20140193250
Abstract: A plate closes the main part of a vane in two parts. An internal cavity is closed by the plate. Around a bearing surface of the plate, a groove receives an elastic seal, and the outer edge of the plate extends over the groove to compress the seal and to establish excellent leak proofing. The position of the plate may be guaranteed by centring pins penetrating into holes adjacent to the seal and which it fills when the pins have been removed, which completes the closing of the cavity. The plate has application in particular to stationary gas guide vanes in turbine engines.

  • Patent number: 8763185
Abstract: A temporary bridge includes two spans, each including at least three bridge elements to be stacked when the bridge is in a first so-called non-deployed position. The bridge elements are pivotably connected to one another, wherein two consecutive bridge elements are connected to one another by at least two linking arms mounted on the same side edge of the bridge elements. Two consecutive linking arms form a regular parallelogram with the two consecutive bridge elements connected by the arms, which can be deformed such that the movement of one bridge element relative to a bridge element immediately below in the stack of a span in the non-deployed position of the bridge causes the circular translation of the bridge element relative to the bridge element of the span immediately below. For at least one of the spans, at least one of the linking arms is shared by three consecutive bridge elements.

  • Patent number: 8688275
Abstract: Embodiments of the present invention provide methods and systems for ensuring that mobile robots are able to detect and avoid positive obstacles in a physical environment that are typically hard to detect because the obstacles do not exist in the same plane or planes as the mobile robot's horizontally-oriented obstacle detecting lasers. Embodiments of the present invention also help to ensure that mobile robots are able to detect and avoid driving into negative obstacles, such as gaps or holes in the floor, or a flight of stairs. Thus, the invention provides positive and negative obstacle avoidance systems for mobile robots.
