Patent number: 9522098Abstract: A reconstitution device having an opening surrounded by a neck, and a cap including a first end, a second end, and an inner bore having a central aperture. A stopper is positioned in the opening of the neck and includes a portion capable of being perforated. A plunger is located at the second end of the cap, is configured to slide along the inner bore of the cap, and includes a shaft extending downwardly in a direction towards the stopper and having a pointed end for piercing the stopper. A locking mechanism is located in the cap and includes an aperture. The locking mechanism is configured such that when the plunger is pushed downwardly the shaft is allowed to pass through the aperture, but when the plunger is pulled upwardly the second aperture changes shape such that the shaft cannot freely pass through the aperture.Type: GrantFiled: September 19, 2013Date of Patent: December 20, 2016Assignee: Bayer Healthcare, LLCInventors: Jonathan David Tuckwell, Robert Dyer, Robert Owen Kivlin, John Paul Palmer-Felgate, Matthew Burgess Avery, Kevin George Skinner, Chris Kadamus, Lee Wood, Peter Schwan, Ben Arlett

Patent number: 8579240Abstract: A tie clip includes a strap body formed of a first material. The strap body has a first and second end, a strap retention member, a plurality of teeth disposed on the strap body, and a securing member. The strap body also includes sealing member that is formed of a second material that is different from the first material. The second material is directly chemically bonded to the first material. The first end of the strap body is received in a unidirectional manner in the strap retention member so as to form a loop that fixedly holds at least one object such that the object is prevented from having lateral movement through the loop. When the securing member is fastenably secured within a hole of a mounting structure, the sealing member sealingly engages against the mounting structure surrounding the hole to prevent environmental element intrusion therethrough.Type: GrantFiled: July 7, 2011Date of Patent: November 12, 2013Assignee: Delphi Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Kenneth B. Patent number: 8562582Abstract: A reconstitution device for storing a first component of a pharmaceutical preparation includes a receptacle, a cap having a first end secured to the receptacle, a second end, and an inner bore having a central aperture. The device further includes a stopper located between the receptacle and the cap, the stopper including a portion capable of being perforated. The device also includes a plunger secured to the second end of the cap, a locking mechanism located in the cap, and an actuating mechanism. The actuating mechanism may prevent the device from inadvertent activation.Type: GrantFiled: May 24, 2007Date of Patent: October 22, 2013Assignee: Bayer Healthcare LLCInventors: Jonathan David Tuckwell, Robert Dyer, Robert Owen Kivlin, Matthew Burgess Avery, Kevin George Skinner, Peter Schwan, John Paul Palmer-Felgate, Chris Kadamus, Lee Wood, Ben Arlett

Publication number: 20090208781Abstract: A method for operating a fuel cell system comprising: a first fuel cell stack having a first current and a first temperature, electrically coupled in parallel with a second fuel cell stack having a second current and a second temperature, may include: triggering a fault response when a differential between the first and second currents or between the first and second temperatures exceeds a respective threshold.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 19, 2008Publication date: August 20, 2009Inventors: George A. Skinner, Anthony G. W. Cochrane

Publication number: 20070003611Abstract: A new and useful method of granulating calcium carbonate is provided. Such a method entails the inclusion of very low amounts of an aqueous solution citric acid to a calcium carbonate material, with subsequent, mixing, drying, milling, and sieving to provide the correct target particle size range for the resultant granulated materials. Such granulated calcium carbonate materials exhibit very high available calcium levels, excellent flow characteristics, capability for compression into tablets, and a drastic reduction in needed binders to effectuate the desired granulation itself. Products including such granulated calcium carbonate materials are also encompassed within this invention.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 29, 2005Publication date: January 4, 2007Inventors: Sung-Tsuen Liu, George Skinner

Patent number: 7120821Abstract: The method of the present invention is useful in detecting the lack of majority cluster nodes within a cluster, and reorganizes the cluster membership to allow for running with less than a majority of nodes connected. As nodes become alive, they are added to the cluster until the original majority is reached, which then allows for the cluster to return to normal operation. Thus, the method of the present invention allows for the revival and reconstitution of a majority node set of clusters.Type: GrantFiled: July 24, 2003Date of Patent: October 10, 2006Assignee: Unisys CorporationInventors: Steven George Skinner, Matthew Ky Phuong, Mark Lynn Preston

Patent number: 6990602Abstract: The method of the present invention is useful in a computer system including at least two server nodes, each of which can execute clustered server software. The program executes a method for providing data to restore clustering when clustering services fail. The method includes the step of comparing current configuration data to previous configuration data. Next, the method compares the current configuration data to a standard configuration data. Finally, the method compares a set of operations to a standard clustering functionality.Type: GrantFiled: August 23, 2001Date of Patent: January 24, 2006Assignee: Unisys CorporationInventors: Steven George Skinner, Donna Lynn Goodman

Patent number: 6167563Abstract: The method and system of the present invention solves the problems of the prior art by creating several components to detect and correct an out of date component. A component is considered out of date if one of the constituent files is newer than the components. At that point a build of the component is in order. A component dependent on another is considered out of date if the public interfaces to the component change. The interfaces of the dependent component do not necessarily have to be used by the component in question to affect the build situation. A component is considered up to date if all constituent files have a time stamp earlier than the component and no dependent components have changed their interfaces. Each of the components involved will act upon one of the situations to determine if a build should be done.Type: GrantFiled: September 17, 1998Date of Patent: December 26, 2000Assignee: Unisys CorporationInventors: James Albert Fontana, Anthony Reginald Pitchford, Steven George Skinner, Joseph Peter Stefaniak

Patent number: 5143757Abstract: A layer of coating bonded to a substrate is encapsulated to prevent portions of the layer from becoming detached and randomly distributed. This is accomplished by applying a first layer of an adhesive to the exposed surface of the layer to be encapsulated. A second layer composed of a fibrous material is placed in contact with the first layer of adhesive and then an additional layer of adhesive is applied by a suitable technique such as brushing or coating. The additional layer of adhesive penetrates the fibrous material forming a stratified layer composed of an outer layer primarily of the adhesive, an intermediate layer composed primarily of a mixture of adhesive and fibrous material and an inner layer including the exposed surface layer and portions of the adhesive. The method is useful for encapsulating potentially hazardous materials such as lead based paints and asbestos.Type: GrantFiled: January 17, 1991Date of Patent: September 1, 1992Inventor: George Skinner
