  • Patent number: 6687654
Abstract: Techniques for monitoring a machine for significant deviations from normal operations include collecting, at a first processing element, sensor data about the machine. The first processing element performs narrowband frequency domain processing to determine a segment of sensor data that indicates a deviation from normal operations that exceeds a threshold deviation. A message including the segment of sensor data is sent to a second processing element. In response to receiving the message, the second processing element performs different narrowband frequency domain processing to determine whether the deviation from normal operations is significant for maintaining the machine. If the deviation from normal operations is determined to be significant for maintaining the machine, then the deviation is reported to cause the machine to be maintained.

  • Patent number: 6630430
Abstract: This invention is directed to lubricating compositions which contain detergent components derived from linear alkylbenzenes including sulfonates and salts and esters thereof. Detergents provided by the invention have a higher content of the 2-phenyl alkylbenzene isomers than was previously available in materials of prior art. The detergents of the present invention are more powerful detergents over those previously available and may be employed as additives in various lubricating compositions, including motor oils, cutting fluids, emulsions, and motor fuels.

  • Publication number: 20030186831
Abstract: This invention is directed to detergent compositions which employ sulfonated linear alkylbenzenes as surfactants, wherein the sulfonated linear alkylbenzenes have a higher content of the sulfonated 2-phenyl alkylbenzene isomers than was previously available in sulfonated phenyl alkylbenzene surfactants of the prior art. Cleaning compositions according to the invention are more effective as cleaning agents over their counterparts of prior art which contain sulfonated linear alkylbenzenes having lower contents of the 2-phenyl alkylbenzene isomers, owing to an unexpected increase in tolerance of water hardness minerals normally associated with precipitation of the active detergent agent. Solid sulfonate salts of alkylbenzenes are also provided, including dry formulations containing same.

  • Publication number: 20030182728
Abstract: A pressure pad (1) has two sets of cells (11, 12) with a sensor pad (8) positioned under the pad (1). During inflation, part of the low goes to the sensor pad (8) to exhaust and the rest fills the cells (11 or 12). Any change in patient position/weight causing a change in airflow in tube (10) will alter the differential pressure measured at the pressure transducer (16). Based on this feedback the microprocessor directly controls the power level to the pump (6) thus adjusting the airflow to the cells to prevent bottoming or to rung at a minimum pressure. The pressure pad (1) is segmented into a heel section, upper leg section, torso section, and a head section. The heel, head and upper leg sections are maintained at a lower pressure P1 and the torso section at a higher pressure P2. A control module (50) to control the flow in the segments is provided inside the pressure pad (1). The pressure pad (1) can be an alternating or static pad.

  • Publication number: 20030166481
Abstract: This invention is directed to a fluorine-containing mordenite catalyst and use thereof in the manufacture of alkylbenzene (LAB) by alkylation of benzene with an olefin. The olefin may have from about 10 to 14 carbons. The fluorine-containing mordenite is prepared typically by treatment with an aqueous hydrogen fluoride solution. The benzene alkylation may be conducted using reactive distillation. This invention is also directed to a process for production of LAB having a high 2-phenyl isomer content by use of the fluorine-containing mordenite in conjunction with a conventional solid LAB alkylation catalyst. The two catalysts may be used in a mixed catalyst bed or may be packed in series, with the relative proportions being adjusted to provide a desired 2-phenyl isomer content of in the final product.

  • Patent number: 6602839
Abstract: Provided herein are sulfosuccinamates made using polyetheramines as intermediates. The sulfosuccinamates according to the invention exhibit excellent detergency when employed in formulations used as hard surface cleaners, laundry detergents, and dishwashing liquids. In addition, the sulfosuccinamates according to the invention have an unexpectedly high degree of water hardness tolerance, and are easier to produce than similar materials found in the prior art owing to the fact that the product and its intermediates exist in liquid form.

  • Patent number: 6586384
Abstract: A method of delivering a benefit agent to a selected area of a fabric for exerting a predetermined activity, wherein the area is pre-treated with a multi-specific binding molecule which has a high binding affinity to said area through one specificity and is capable of binding to said benefit agent through another specificity, followed by contacting said pre-treated area with said benefit agent, to enhance said pre-determined activity to said area. Preferably, the binding molecule is an antibody or fragment thereof, or a fusion protein comprising a cellulose binding domain and a domain having a high binding affinity to another ligand which is directed to said benefit agent.
