  • Publication number: 20120240949
Abstract: A multi-purpose lighter apparatus comprising a lighter and at least a cigar splitter. The lighter may comprise a lighter body and a lighter cap for emitting a flame. In a preferred embodiment, the cigar splitter may be incorporated into the lighter body. In an alternate embodiment, the cigar splitter may be incorporated into a frame, wherein the frame may be attached to or secured about at least a portion of a conventional lighter body in the form an aftermarket accessory for both disposable and non-disposable lighters. The cigar splitter may comprise two or more nested, removable, concentric housings wherein each housing has its own blade for splitting cigars of differing diameters. The functionality of the multi-purpose lighter may be further enhanced by the incorporation of one or more tools including but not limited to a clip, a light, a can opener, a bottle opener, and the like.

  • Patent number: 7886942
Abstract: A valve for a liquid dispensing system includes a casing having an interior sidewall. A hollow dispensing pin is positioned within the casing. The dispensing pin has a first end, a second end, an exterior surface, and an interior flow passage. At least one radial dispensing passage extends from the interior flow passage through to the exterior surface at the first end of the dispensing pin. A first plunger is disposed between the interior sidewall of the casing and the exterior surface of the dispensing pin. The first plunger engages both the interior surface of the casing and the exterior surface of the dispensing pin. The first plunger is movable between a closed position blocking any flow through the at least one radial dispensing passage and an open position toward the second end of the dispensing pin spaced from the at least one radial dispensing passage.

  • Patent number: 7021496
Abstract: A liquid dispensing apparatus includes a housing having an exterior and an insulated interior cavity. The cavity is accessible through an access opening. A closure is provided for selectively closing the access opening to the cavity. A refrigeration assembly is provided for cooling the cavity. A flow channel is provided having a first end and a second end. The first end is positioned on a bottom of the cavity. The second end is positioned on the exterior of the housing. Liquids flow by force of gravity from the cavity to the exterior of the housing. A coupling is positioned at the first end of the flow channel. The coupling is adapted to couple the flow channel with a liquid container positioned within the cavity. A valve is positioned at the second end of the flow channel to control the flow of liquid flowing through the flow channel.

  • Patent number: 4269291
Abstract: The driving, braking and freewheeling device for tricycles has a simplified structure including a central circular disc driven by a pedal-operated shaft. Cams, symmetrically positioned around the periphery of the central disc, oppose brake shoes which form a segmented ring within the hub of the vehicle's driven wheel. The inner surfaces of the brake shoes are contoured to act as cam followers. Application of torque to the drive shaft in a first direction forces the brake shoes outwardly until engagement is made with an inner surface of the wheel causing the wheel to rotate. When no torque is applied to the drive shaft there is no cam action to force the brake shoes outwardly against the wheel thus permitting the wheel to rotate freely. When the drive shaft is torqued in the opposite direction, the cams force the brake shoes to engage the inner surface in opposition to the rotation of the driven wheel and effect a braking action.
