  • Publication number: 20070090848
Abstract: A design-for-test (DFT) circuit for an integrated circuit (IC) for enabling accurate quiescent current testing. The IC includes a voltage supply pin, a ground pin and an internal voltage regulator coupled between the voltage supply and ground pins for providing an internal output voltage. The DFT circuit includes a voltage storage device which couples to the voltage regulator to temporarily maintain the internal output voltage when the voltage regulator is disabled. The mode control circuit detects a quiescent current test mode, disables the voltage regulator and decouples the voltage regulator from the voltage storage device when the quiescent current test mode is detected. The DFT circuit may include an enable circuit which generates a freeze signal when the quiescent current test mode is detected, and at least one switch which decouples the voltage regulator from the voltage storage node. The DFT circuit is particularly useful for low pin-count ICs.

  • Publication number: 20070093797
Abstract: A method and apparatus for thermal treatment of tissue by irradiating the skin with electromagnetic energy is disclosed. Sources of electromagnetic energy include radio frequency (RF) generators, lasers, and flashlamps. The apparatus includes either a positional sensor or a dosage evaluation sensor, or both types of sensors. These sensors provide feedback to a controller. The controller may control the electromagnetic source parameters, the electromagnetic source activation, and/or the sensor measurement parameters. An additional scanning delivery unit may be operably coupled to the controller or to the sensors to provide a controlled distribution of electromagnetic energy to the target region of the skin. The use of positional measurement sensors and dosage evaluation sensors permits the controller to automatically determine the proper electromagnetic source parameters including, for example, pulse timing and pulse frequency.

  • Publication number: 20070091188
Abstract: A first image is received and enlarged to create a second image. The second image includes a plurality of unknown pixel values, wherein each unknown pixel value has a plurality of neighboring known pixel values. The unknown pixel values are interpolated from the known pixel values in view of pixel interpolation weights. Interpolation of the unknown pixel values involves determining the needed interpolation weights by: classifying an area of the image into one of a plurality of types based on known pixel values, and obtaining at least one certain interpolation weight based on the classification type of the image area for use in interpolating at least one unknown pixel value.

  • Publication number: 20070090997
Abstract: Embodiments of active array antennas are generally described herein. Other embodiments may be described and claimed. In some embodiments, a reflect array antenna includes an array of rectangular monolithic sub-array modules arranged in a non-uniform pattern to leave a plurality of rectangular gaps in the pattern. The heat sink may have holes aligned with the gaps to allow passage of the DC feed pins. In some embodiments, an array cooling assembly may be coupled to the back of the heat sink to cool the reflect array antenna with a coolant.

  • Publication number: 20070093328
Abstract: A tensioner for a closed loop power transmission system for an internal combustion engine having a drive shaft terminating in a sprocket and at least one camshaft, each terminating in a sprocket, with a single continuous chain wrapping around all of the sprockets. The tensioner contains a pair of elongated tensioning arms, each one in slidable contact with one of the two strands of chain that traverses between the driving sprocket and the driven sprocket(s). Each tensioning arm contains a wear face that remains in constant slidable contact with the strand of chain to which it is adjacent. An adjusting arm connects one of the ends of the tensioning arms. The adjusting arm has a ratchet means that adjusts for the backlash in the system and takes up any slack in the chain.

  • Publication number: 20070094479
Abstract: A method and data processing system for accessing an entry in a memory array is provided using base and offset addresses without adding the base and offset addresses. PGZO encoding is performed on the address bits of the operands. The PGZO values are evaluated using wordline generators resulting in a plurality of possible memory array entry addresses. In parallel with the PGZO operations, a carry value is generated using other bits in the operands. The result of the carry operation determines which of the possible memory array entries is selected from the memory array.

  • Publication number: 20070090063
Abstract: An expandable dish rack assembly includes upstream and downstream racks that are in sliding nesting relationship to one another. The downstream rack has upstream and downstream legs projecting down from the bottom wall of the downstream rack for supporting the downstream rack on a horizontal surface. The downstream legs are shorter than the upstream legs of the downstream rack so that the bottom wall of the upstream rack slopes downwardly from the upstream end to the downstream end. Upstream legs project down from the bottom wall of the upstream rack. Thus, the upstream rack can be supported on the upstream legs thereof and on the bottom wall of the downstream rack.

  • Publication number: 20070094015
Abstract: Audio codec using the Fast Fourier Transform, the partial overlap and a decomposition in two plans based on the energy. The present invention concerns a method of audio compression and decompression, simple, of high quality, not requiring a lot of computations and allowing to obtain very high compression ratios. This codec is optimized for both the voice and the music. The most spread methods nowadays use the Linear Predictive Coding (LPC) in the time domain for the voice and the Modified Discrete Cosine Transform (MDCT) in the frequency domain for the music. The present codec uses the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT). The Fast Fourier Transform buffers are split into a forward plan (composed only of the biggest points) and a backward plan (composed of the most energetic bands). The non null points in the bands are composed only of points not taken into account in the forward plan.

  • Publication number: 20070090822
Abstract: An electronic ballast includes open circuit voltage regulation comprises an filament current sensing circuit 224 operably connected to an output of the electronic ballast and generating a sensed output voltage signal, and a regulating pulse width modulator U3 receiving the sensed output voltage signal and operably connected to control voltage at the output of the electronic ballast, the regulating pulse width modulator U3 having an output voltage threshold limit. The regulating pulse width modulator U3 limits the voltage at the output of the electronic ballast when the sensed output voltage signal exceeds the output voltage threshold limit. The regulating pulse width modulator U3 can limit the output voltage by limiting the pulse width to the high voltage driver and the resonant half bridge. The filament current sensing circuit 224 can sense the output voltage indirectly, such as by sensing tank current, or can sense the output voltage directly.

  • Publication number: 20070089494
Abstract: Novel methods for monitoring and recording fouling of aqueous systems are disclosed. The methods employ a heat transfer test assembly including an outer tube member, a heating rod positioned within the outer tube member, a ribbed tube sleeve fitted over the heating rod and thermocouples for sensing the wall temperature of heating rod. The heat transfer test assembly is connected to a monitoring and recording assembly that is connected to or includes a piping assembly. The piping assembly and the heat transfer test assembly are placed in fluid communication with a heat exchanger. Fouling determinations of fluid flowing through the piping assembly are made at varying flow rates with simultaneous monitoring and recording of the flow rates together with data, such as corrosion, pH, conductivity, and the like.
