  • Patent number: 7658113
Abstract: A method of determining the lift generated by a lift-generating member is presented. The lift-generating member being coupled to a component within the lift load path with the lift load path component experiencing strain as a result of the lift generated by the lift-generating member. The method involves the steps of coupling at least one strain measurement means to the lift load path component, obtaining strain measurements from the strain measurement means, and calculating the lift generated by the lift-generating member from strain measurements.

  • Patent number: 7648899
Abstract: Protective caps residing at an interface between metal lines and dielectric diffusion barrier (or etch stop) layers are used to improve electromigration performance of interconnects. Protective caps are formed by depositing a source layer of dopant-generating material (e.g., material generating B, Al, Ti, etc.) over an exposed copper line, converting the upper portion of the source layer to a passivated layer (e.g., nitride or oxide) while allowing an unmodified portion of a dopant-generating source layer to remain in contact with copper, and, subsequently, allowing the dopant from the unmodified portion of source layer to controllably diffuse into and/or react with copper, thereby forming a thin protective cap within copper line. The cap may contain a solid solution or an alloy of copper with the dopant.

  • Publication number: 20090089952
Abstract: A paint roller including a roller cover retainer that is releasable to permit a roller cover to be easily removed. The device includes a locking lever pivotable relative to the frame which actuates retainers located within the roller assembly. The locking lever also exerts an axial force adapted to disengage the roller cover from the roller assembly when the retainer is disengaged. A used roller cover can be removed without the need to grasp the used roller cover. Installation of a roller cover onto the roller assembly automatically engages the retainers and shifts the locking lever into the locked position.

  • Publication number: 20090030945
Abstract: A method of generating a display reflecting some contents of a database includes retrieving values from the database, each value representing each of a plurality of factors determined to be indicative of a state of health. The values are analyzed to determine a first score indicating conformity with some identified first thresholds. Each of a plurality of first blocks for placement in a first echelon is colored based upon the first score. First scores are selectively combined to determine at least one second score based upon conformity with a corresponding second threshold. Each of the at least one second block is colored based upon the corresponding second score. The at least one second block is arranged in a second echelon of the display. The plurality of first blocks are then arranged to form a first echelon such that each of the first blocks is close to the second block that bases its second score upon that first block.

  • Publication number: 20080284545
Abstract: A fixed impedance low pass metal powder filter having a planar buried stripline geometry comprises first and second parallel ground planes spaced from one another and a central stripline spaced equal distance from the first and second parallel ground planes and parallel thereto. The space between the first and second ground planes is filled with a dielectric containing metal powder. The densities of the metal powder within the dielectric are highest near the central stripline and become less near the first and second ground planes. The dielectric is a laminated structure that comprises layers of epoxy impregnated fiberglass, layers having different densities of metal powder.

  • Patent number: 7356569
Abstract: The invention includes a method of tracking distributed content within a computer network. The method includes the step of identifying the delivery of a set of Network Information Monitors (NIMs). Information about each NTM within the set of NIMs is tracked. The information includes a first time at which a user opens a selected NIM, a second time at which the user closes the selected NW, and an identifier for the selected NIM. The information is used to determine sub-sets of NIMs that are displayed simultaneously. The invention also includes a method of identifying the delivery of a Network Information Monitor (NIM) to a user. Content information for the NIM is recorded. NIM use activity is tracked the user for a set of NIMs. The content information is correlated with the NIM use activity.

  • Patent number: 7344726
Abstract: In a process for the preparation of an article having a contact biocidal property, there is provided a polymer solution which contains atomic/metallic silver in suspension or complexed with the polymer and/or which contains a silver compound in solution, in suspension or complexed with the polymer. This polymer solution is applied to a substrate by impregnation or surface deposition, thus coating the substrate. Alternatively, it is possible to convert the polymer solution to a fibre, film, powder or foam, effectively forming the article from the polymer solution instead of coating an existing article. In either case, any silver compound present is reduced to atomic/metallic silver, and the resultant article is dried. Chitosan is preferably used as the polymer, although poly(vinyl alcohol) and sodium alginate can also be used. The polymer may be cross-linked at a suitable point in the process to insolubilize it.
