  • Patent number: 6141917
Abstract: A roof panel construction includes a plurality of integral snow and ice gripping projections to help retain accumulated ice thereon and to guide the drainage of melted snow and ice therefrom during snow and ice melting ambient conditions. The projections are each convex in configuration to grip the frozen snow and ice and yet permit efficient drainage of the melted snow and ice thereover and therearound.

  • Patent number: 5711114
Abstract: The rooftop snow retention assembly includes at least one upstanding projection connected integrally to a top surface of a roof. An elongated upper wall portion of the projection cooperates with a snow guard positioned adjacent to the projection. The snow guard includes an upright wall member to engage the snow or ice and a base member bonded to the top surface, wherein the base member substantially abuts the upper wall portion to help resist the snow guard from moving downwardly. A pair of leg members extend downwardly from the base member on either side of the projection to further brace the snow guard against shear forces applied by the accumulated snow or ice.

  • Patent number: 5575027
Abstract: The method of supporting the chest and abdomen areas of a person laying in a supine position includes applying pressure to one side of the chest or abdomen with a body engaging member. Similarly, pressure is applied to the other side of the chest or abdomen with another body engaging member to provide sufficient oppositely directed force to the chest or abdomen areas for providing lateral support thereto. The application of the pressure to both sides of the chest or abdomen is maintained, thereby restraining the chest or abdomen between the opposing body engaging members. A further embodiment includes applying pressure to the lower abdomen with a strap member coupled between a pair of upright members, and maintaining the application of the pressure thereon with a buckle.

  • Patent number: 5205088
Abstract: A roofing panel construction with at least one upstanding projection which holds accumulating precipitation in the form of snow in stasis from movement. Each projection has a smoothly rounded contoured back body with a front wall having a generally flat front outer face to arrest or inhibit the downward motion of accumulated snow or ice. The body of each projection is generally triangularly shaped in cross section throughout its longitudinal dimension for strengthening the body and wall under snow or ice loading. The front wall of each projection is disposed at an acute angle relative to the transverse dimension of its associated panel for helping to prevent the accumulation of standing water as accumulated snow or ice melts gradually. Similar projections are staggered and angularly displaced relative to one another. In another form of the invention, different types of projections are spaced apart and aligned relative to one another.

  • Patent number: 4616366
Abstract: A dress shirt redesigned to fit, and be put on, like a knit shirt having a partial stationary placket extending from the collar opening on the shirt and a pseudo placket extending to the bottom thereof and containing buttonholes and buttons to maintain the usual appearance of a dress shirt to prevent puckering or gapping when a person is seated or bending forwardly or a modified construction comprising the usual dress shirt provided with a two-way stretch pleat in the back of the shirt to move and stretch so as to prevent puckering or gapping when seated or bending forward.
