Patent number: 9125528Abstract: To better facilitate the application and removal of make-up on the skin, including on the face, and especially around the eyes, the present invention provides a wiping product having two or more lobes which substantially conform to both the user's finger and the area around the user's eyes. The wiping product is not secured to the user's finger or worn like a glove, but rather is simply supported by one or more fingers in use. In this manner, the wiping product is both simple to use and provides excellent application and removal of make-up in often hard to reach areas, such as the recesses of the eyes.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 2014Date of Patent: September 8, 2015Assignee: Kimberly-Clark Worldwide, Inc.Inventors: Jason Robert Boon, Frederick Juan Williams, Jr., Walter George Bauer, Kevin Christopher Possell

Patent number: 9022919Abstract: A vaginal insert device including a support portion, a stabilizing portion, a removal device, and at least one fluid passageway extending though the support portion is disclosed. The vaginal insert relaxes in the vagina to deliver outward compression force against the bladder neck via the anterior vaginal wall to assist prevention of urinary stress incontinence. The substantially cylindrical support portion has a distal end, a proximal end, and a hollow interior section with a plurality of struts extending from the distal end to the proximal end. Desirably, the plurality of struts helically curve as the plurality of struts extend from the distal end to the proximal end. The largest circumference of the support portion has an insertion diameter when the plurality of struts are twisted together and an in-use diameter wherein the plurality of struts are extended outward into a convex position larger than the insertion diameter.Type: GrantFiled: December 23, 2010Date of Patent: May 5, 2015Assignee: Kimberly-Clark Worldwide, Inc.Inventors: Kimberly Louise Ellefson, Jason Robert Boon, Garry Roland Woltman, MaryAnn Zunker, Patricia Ann Samolinski, Walter George Bauer, Vivian Kate Barad, Nicole Sarah Kahn, Gina Lynn Romero, Elger Oberwelz, James Rolfe Yurchenco, Jonah Lawrence Houston, Tiffany Heather Card, Martin Schnitzer

Patent number: 6340727Abstract: This invention is based upon the discovery that cyclized polyisoprene polymers can be incorporated into tire tread compounds to improve traction, treadwear, and resistance to tear. It is further based upon the discovery that cyclized polyisoprene polymers can be blended with halobutyl rubber and/or natural rubber and can be utilized in tire innerliner formulations. The present invention more specifically discloses a tire which is comprised of a generally toroidal-shaped carcass with an outer circumferential tread, two spaced beads, at least one ply extending from bead to bead and sidewalls extending radially from and connecting said tread to said beads, wherein said tread is adapted to be ground-contacting, and wherein said tread is comprised of a sulfur cured rubber composition which is comprised of about 5 phr to about 50 phr of cyclized polyisoprene and about 50 phr to about 95 phr of at least one other rubbery polymer.Type: GrantFiled: July 30, 2001Date of Patent: January 22, 2002Assignee: The Goodyear Tire & Rubber CompanyInventors: Paul Harry Sandstrom, Joseph Frank Geiser, Judy Chu, David John Zanzig, Richard George Bauer

Patent number: 5947506Abstract: A trailer hitch bumper guard that is formed from three-sided box-like apparatus mounted to the rear bumper of the towing vehicle with a fourth, open side of the apparatus which faces outward from the rear of the towing vehicle. The bottom of the box has a round hole, through which the ball of a trailer hitch may be attached. The three closed sides of the box provide protection from dents and scratches to the rear bumper of the towing vehicle if the trailer's receiver apparatus passes the ball and comes into contact with the rear portion of the bumper. A hinged cover is attached to the rearmost side of the box, and pivots upward to allow greater access to the ball hitch. During attachment, the hinged cover is placed in the open position and thus, extends the amount of protection supplied to the vehicle by the present invention. When in the lowered position, the hinged cover creates a step on which the driver can stand to gain easy access to the rear portion of the towing vehicle.Type: GrantFiled: March 24, 1997Date of Patent: September 7, 1999Inventor: Martin George Bauer

Patent number: 5882037Abstract: A plate- or shell-like plastic trim panel is provided with a convex structure configured such that, in the event of a horizontal compressive load running essentially in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle, the trim panel undergoes a controlled elastic and/or plastic deformation in the direction of the adjoining free space. This arrangement avoids risking injury to legs of a vehicle occupant resulting from uncontrolled bending or breaking of flat trim panels without such convex structure.Type: GrantFiled: February 28, 1997Date of Patent: March 16, 1999Assignee: Mercedes-Benz AGInventors: George Bauer, Alban Bossenmaier, Santiago Duenas Loza, Friedrich Reiter
