  • Patent number: 8317016
Abstract: A contact lens package includes a holder having a receptacle for holding a contact lens and a cap having a seal for sealing a contact lens within the receptacle. The cap is attached to the holder and is movable from an end of the holder where the receptacle is formed toward an opposite end of the holder. As the cap moves toward the opposite end of the holder, the end of the holder where the receptacle is formed ruptures the seal such that the contact lens can be removed from the package.

  • Patent number: 7699161
Abstract: An ophthalmic lens package comprises a shell having an internal cavity accessible through an opening in the shell and a drainage member that divides the internal chamber into an upper chamber and a lower chamber. The drainage member is permeable to aqueous liquids and is arranged to allow drainage of liquid from the upper chamber to the lower chamber. This arrangement of the ophthalmic lens package allows the consumer to retrieve the lens from the upper chamber without handling any significant amount of saline solution.

  • Publication number: 20100049043
Abstract: A compact, portable ultra sound system is capable of docking with a larger, traditional cart-based ultrasound system. The docking can include a physical and an electrical connectivity between the compact portable ultrasound system and the larger traditional cart-based ultrasound system. The compact system is thus able to use the peripherals ofthe larger system and this provides for a more cost effective use of the larger system.

  • Publication number: 20090124908
Abstract: A method and apparatus for ultrasound imaging of microbubbles of a contrast agent in arterioles while all microbubbles of the contrast agent have been eliminated in the capillaries of a patient and tissue signal response to ultrasound imaging is suppressed. This method and apparatus permits ultrasound imaging for detecting coronary artery disease without the need for a stress test.

  • Publication number: 20080219526
Abstract: A three-dimensional visualization technique for easily identifying common morphological landmarks in volume rendered ultrasound perfusion images. The technique includes processing acoustic data received by an ultrasound imaging system (100) according to at least two different signal processing methods. One of these methods is perfusion-specific, while another of these methods is tissue-specific. Each of these methods provides separately processed volume images. A volume rendering step (14, 16) assigns different volume rendering characteristics to each of the volume images according to whether the volume images are based on perfusion- or tissue-specific acoustic data. The at least two volume images can also be differentiated in the volume rendering step by assigning each volume image a specific color. The volume images are finally combined (18) and displayed (20).
