  • Publication number: 20020038837
Abstract: Broadly my invention relates to a simple, economical, and lightweight device for holding, carrying, and unreeling spools of wire when stringing barbed wire fences. The present invention generally relates to a fencing tool and more particularly to a device for holding, carrying, and unreeling spools of barbed wire. The device generally comprises a means of engaging a spool of wire, a means for grasping or holding the spool of wire, a means for carrying or transporting the spool of wire, and a means for unreeling the spool of wire. The means for engaging the spool allows the spool of wire to freely rotate to permit the unreeling of the spool of wire by one person. The means for engaging is connected to the means for grasping such that a spool of wire engaged therewith can be held away from the body of the user, while avoiding the dangers encountered with the installation and use of barbed wire.
