  • Publication number: 20240103009
Abstract: Provided herein are methods of monitoring for the production of select antibodies in a non-human animal, comprising (a) immunizing a non-human animal with an immunogen; (b) obtaining a blood sample comprising antibody secreting cells (ASCs) from said non-human animal; and (c) individually assaying ASCs present in the blood sample, or a fraction thereof, for the production of select antibodies. Methods of guiding antibody production in a non-human animal for the production of select antibodies are also provided. In exemplary embodiments, the method comprises performing a cycle of (a) to (c), as above, and repeating the cycle when the percentage of ASCs producing select antibodies is below a threshold. In various aspects, the cycle is repeated until the percentage of ASCs producing select antibodies is at or above a threshold. Single cell assays are further provided herein.

  • Publication number: 20070101060
Abstract: A portable memory devices which is connectable with a computer. The memory device has a display and suitable controls for scrolling through a list of file names within the memory or within an optional memory card attached to the memory device. This allows the user to see the names, files sizes, data types, etc. of the files on the memory device and/or the optionally attached memory card.

  • Publication number: 20070086275
Abstract: An electronic data device used for reminding a user of an event, deadline, appointment, or the like. The device includes a housing which contains internal electronic components such as a microprocessor coupled to a data memory. These internal components are electrically coupled to external electronic components of the housing such as an input arrangement, for entering time and/or date data into the data memory, a data entry display for displaying the entry of data into the data memory, and a reminder display for indicating including an array of lights for displaying signals which indicate a continuous countdown of time corresponding to the time and/or date data from the data memory. In one embodiment the device includes an clip attachment mechanism for attaching the device to an article such as a file folder, a refrigerator, or the like.

  • Patent number: 5128047
Abstract: A process for separately removing zinc and iron from acidic wastewater. The process involves adding alkali metal hydroxide to the acidic wastewater (below about pH 4) to achieve a first pH of about 4.8 to at most about 5.4 and precipitate an iron hydroxide-containing precipitate at this pH. The precipitate from the wastewater is separated and then additional alkali metal hydroxide is added to achieve a second pH in the range from about 8.8 to about 9.4. A zinc hydroxide containing precipitate forms at this second pH and is then recovered by filtration.

  • Patent number: 4137482
Abstract: A traveling wave tube adapted for periodic magnetic focusing of the electron beam has a thin-walled, non-magnetic cylinder around the slow-wave circuit portion, forming part of the vacuum envelope. A stack of metal rings surrounding the cylinder has alternating non-magnetic rings and magnetic rings, the latter forming the periodic magnet pole pieces. The rings and the thin cylinder are all brazed together to provide a strong structure. Since the cylinder does not have to be self-supporting, it is made thin enough to allow close spacing between the pole pieces and beam, providing strong magnetic field and good focusing. The brazed joints between rings are not vacuum joints, so the probability of leaks is greatly reduced.
