Abstract: A novel 2-Methylbutoxy ethoxyethanol and a method for the preparation thereof. The use of the novel 2-Methylbutoxy ethoxyethanol as a solvent or a coalescing aid in aqueous formulations used as coatings and paints, a cleaning solvent for electronic components, a domestic and industrial hard surface cleaner, a component of oil well drilling muds, a fuel additive, and a solvent for liquid detergents.

Abstract: This invention relates to aqueous resin formulations comprising as cosolvent an alkoxy ethoxyethanol which (i) has 4-8 carbon atoms in the alkoxy group, (ii) has a boiling point at atmospheric pressure within the range from 200.degree. to 350.degree. C. and (iii) in mixtures with n-heptane in the ratio of 30:70 by weight respectively has specific miscibility characteristics. The cosolvent acts either as a solvent or coalescing aid in aqueous formulations used as coatings and paints.

Abstract: This invention relates to a process for increasing the effectiveness of production chemicals by reducing the number of squeezing and shut-in operations needed to increase the production rate from an oil well. The process includes injecting into an oil-bearing rock formation a water-miscible formulation including as components: (a) a water-miscible surfactant which is an alkyltriglycol ether and (b) at least one water-miscible oil field or gas field production chemical, said components of the formulation being introduced either as a pre-formed single composition, or simultaneously in parallel or sequentially in either order into the rock formation via the production well.

Abstract: Two identical shelf halves are provided, each half having a first shelf level for supporting thereon bath articles, and a second shelf level of greater depth for storing therein bottles and the like. The halves are supported on a support bar which allows a spacing therebetween so as to accommodate the flow of water from a tap to the bath below. The structure is adapted for being mounted on the rim of a bath tub and is provided with an upstanding lip for preventing the articles positioned on the first shelf level from falling out. The plurality of bars forming the first shelf level support the structure on the rim of the bathtub. A towel rack rod connecting the halves minimizes displacement between the halves.
