Patent number: 11976611Abstract: A gas turbine engine for an aircraft comprises, in axial flow sequence, a compressor module, a combustor module, and a turbine module, with a first electric machine being rotationally connected to the turbine module. The first electrical machine is configured to generate a maximum electrical power PEM1 (W), and the gas turbine engine is configured to generate a maximum dry thrust T (N); and a ratio S of: S = ( Maximum ? Electrical ? Power ? Generated = P E ? M ? 1 ) ( Maximum ? Dry ? Thrust = T ) is in a range of between 2.0 and 10.0.Type: GrantFiled: September 8, 2022Date of Patent: May 7, 2024Assignee: ROLLS-ROYCE plcInventors: Paul R Davies, Gareth E Moore, Stephen M Husband, David R Trainer, David P Scothern, Luke George

Patent number: 11040831Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods are disclosed for a dual conveyor sorting system. An apparatus includes a first conveyor belt assembly that includes a first conveyor belt moving at a first rate in a first direction. An apparatus includes a second conveyor belt assembly that includes a second conveyor belt moving at a second rate in a second direction. The first rate is faster than the second rate and the first direction is the same as the second direction. The first conveyor belt assembly is positioned along a first axis perpendicular to the second conveyor belt assembly positioned along a second axis. A first edge of the first conveyor belt assembly is positioned substantially adjacent to a first edge of the second conveyor belt assembly.Type: GrantFiled: October 31, 2019Date of Patent: June 22, 2021Assignee: Setpoint Systems, Inc.Inventor: George Davies

Patent number: 6850497Abstract: In a mobile satellite system, a system for providing satellite communication between multiple users in a closed user group arrangement includes first and second mobile earth terminals (METs) responsively connecter to and registering with the mobile satellite system. The first MET selects a closed user group network identifier (NET. ID) representing a NET group including the first and second METs to establish voice communication therewith and transmits the NET ID to a central controller. The central controller receives the NET ID from the first MET, validates the first MET for communication, validates the NET ID, allocates a frequency for the NET group, and broadcasts the message to the NET group including the second MET informing the NET group of the allocated frequency and the voice communication associated therewith. The second MET tunes to the frequency in response to the message broadcast by the central controller, and the central controller assigns the first MET as current speaker for the NET group.Type: GrantFiled: August 29, 1997Date of Patent: February 1, 2005Assignee: Mobile Satellite Ventures, LPInventors: C.
