    Abstract: This invention is directed to a system and method for delivering gases, such as air, oxygen, carbon dioxide, carbon monoxide, and cigarette smoke, to a laboratory animal storage container. The system and method of the present invention allow for tight control and monitoring over the immediate environment of the animal, and allow the environment to be varied rapidly during a study. The invention is particularly useful for sleep apnea studies, but has broad application to animal studies in general.
