  • Publication number: 20240082749
Abstract: An interactive toy comprising a function device for performing user-perceptible, controllable functions. The interactive toy also includes a rechargeable power source and a charging circuit for contactless receipt of electrical energy and for charging the rechargeable power source when the interactive toy is positioned in a charging zone of a contactless charging device. The interactive toy is adapted to determine a charging rate at respective positions relative to the charging device and to generate a user-perceptible output indicative of the determined charging rate.

  • Patent number: 9051887
Abstract: A method of operating an internal combustion engine uses fuels having different reactivities obtained from the same fuel source. A first fuel having a first reactivity is stored in a fuel reservoir. A portion of the first fuel is converted to a second fuel having a second reactivity. The first fuel is introduced into a combustion chamber having a piston moving in a cylinder at a first time when the piston is relatively closer to a bottom dead center (BDC) position and the second fuel is introduced into the combustion chamber at a second time when the piston is relatively further from the BDC position. In an aspect, the convertor may be adjustable to alter the reactivity of the second fuel. In an aspect, the convertor may use a processing fluid associated with the engine to convert the first fuel to the second fuel.

  • Publication number: 20140032084
Abstract: An internal combustion engine system is configured to operate using a first fuel of a first reactivity and a second fuel of a second reactivity. The engine system measures an operating parameter of the internal combustion system. The engine system further introduces to a combustion chamber of the engine system and combusts therein the first fuel and the second fuel during high temperature/speed (HTS) conditions. The engine system also introduces to the combustion chamber and combusts primarily only one of the first fuel or second fuel during a low temperature/speed (LTS) condition.

  • Publication number: 20140026873
Abstract: A four stroke internal combustion engine includes least one cylinder having a reciprocable piston, a first fuel injector disposed to inject a first fuel into said cylinder, and a second fuel injector disposed to inject a second fuel into said cylinder. At least one intake valve of said cylinder is configured to open and close with a variable timing in accordance with a Miller thermodynamic cycle. An exhaust gas recirculation system, provides exhaust gas to said cylinder through the intake valve. An electronic controller is disposed to receive at least one input signal indicative of the operating conditions of the internal combustion engine, and adjusts at least one of the intake valve timing and the amount of exhaust gas recirculation.

  • Publication number: 20070235011
Abstract: A method for recirculating exhaust gas includes operating an intake valve to open an intake port of a combustion chamber, operating an exhaust valve to open an exhaust port of the combustion chamber, and directing exhaust gas from the exhaust port to an exhaust recirculation port of the combustion chamber. The method also includes operating an exhaust recirculation valve to open the exhaust recirculation port to allow the exhaust gas to enter the combustion chamber and determining at least one valve actuation condition for controlling actuation of each of the intake valve and the exhaust recirculation valve.

  • Publication number: 20070137625
Abstract: A work machine system is provided. The system comprises an engine including an air intake system and an exhaust system. The engine is configured to operate efficiently at a defined intake manifold temperature. A cooling system includes a cooling unit mounted at the frontal area of the work machine. The cooling unit houses a cooling component for engine intake air that is undersized relative to a cooling component designed for engine intake air to be delivered to an intake manifold at the defined intake manifold temperature. A control system is configured to operate the engine and the cooling system so that intake air is delivered to the intake manifold at a temperature higher than the defined intake manifold temperature.
