Abstract: A binding for skis of the touring or cross country type comprising a toe plate element fixed to the ski and having a base and upstanding side walls for receiving the toe portion of a ski boot to restrain the boot against forward and lateral movement relative to the ski, a heel plate element fixed to the ski for grippingly engaging the heel of the boot, and a toe spring clamp element fixed to the toe plate element and having a pair of spaced apart, curved outwardly extending arms for clampingly engaging the ski boot along the sides of the toe portion.
