  • Patent number: 11956589
Abstract: A speaker assembly for good thermal management in loudspeakers such as planar magnetic drivers (PMDs). The assembly comprises a front panel with one or more sound openings, one or more PMDs each associated with a respective sound opening, one or more rear thermal plates each associated with a respective PMD structure plate, and a thermal spreader plate. The PMD structure plate is mounted to the front panel, the rear thermal plate is mounted to the associated PMD structure plate, and the thermal spreader plate is mounted to the one or more rear thermal plates, thereby forming a layered heatsink assembly. In a further development, the assembly has multiple PMDs and a circuit configured to modulate power handling and frequency response between the multiple PMDs.

  • Patent number: 11272275
Abstract: A magnetic recoil fastener assembly comprises a fastener with a head and a shank, and two annular magnets. When assembled, the annular magnets are arranged on the shank of the fastener to magnetically repel each other. At least the magnet arranged closer to the head of the fastener has a varying inner diameter of its axial opening, including a first diameter at one end which is larger than the width of the head, and a second diameter which is smaller than the width of the head. The end having the larger first diameter is arranged facing the head of the fastener. Also described are in-wall speaker assemblies including such magnetic recoil fastener assemblies for magnetically mounting speaker grilles in an adjustable manner, as well as methods for installing such in-wall speaker assemblies using such magnetic recoil fastener assemblies.

  • Publication number: 20090252368
Abstract: A ribbon-type electroacoustic transducer such that the acoustic dispersion in the window roughly parallel to the transducers' diaphragm surface is superior to the dispersion of other similar ribbon-type electroacoustic transducers is described. In addition, methods of improving the symmetry of the magnetic field within the motor of the electroacoustic transducer are described. In addition, methods of employing flexible suspension elements attached to a ribbon-type electroacoustic transducer diaphragm such that a shape is created in the diaphragm by the compliance of the flexible suspension elements roughly approximating a smooth curve similar to the smoothly curved diaphragm as described above is described. Additionally, methods of improving the symmetry of the magnetic field within the motor for this shape of diaphragm are described.

  • Publication number: 20080273739
Abstract: “Ribbon tranducer with improved excursion and dispersion characteristics” A method of employing one or more flexible suspension elements attached to a ribbon-type electroacoustic transducer diaphragm such that a bend created in the diaphragm by the flexible suspension element(s) allows the transducer to display broader acoustic dispersion in the plane orthagonal to the net diaphragm surface is described. Additionally, a type of material employed for the flexible suspension which offers minimal acoustic interference to sound radiated from the diaphragm.

  • Patent number: 3941880
Abstract: The method of controlling estrus and ovulation in female bovines by the administration of 11-lower alkyl steroids and 11-lower alkyl steroid compositions for use therein.Drug delivery system for the controlled elution of 11-lower alkyl steroids comprising the steroid adsorbed in a copolymer of a monoester of an olefinic acid and a diester of an oelfinic acid. The method of controlling estrus and ovulation in female bovines by the implantation of said drug delivery system in the bovines, followed by removal at a predetermined period, alternatively augmenting the estrus response by administration of an estrogenic compound.
