  • Patent number: 6470574
Abstract: A ticket scraping device for use with a commemorative coin comprises a two-piece housing having a front section releasably connected to a rear section and defining an opening in a lower end of the housing. The front section further defines a centrally disposed circular aperture while the rear section defines a longitudinally extending slot. The scraping device further includes a slider member having an annular clamping member removably disposed in the housing for releasably holding a coin. The slider member further includes an actuator button disposed in a recess formed in the outer surface of the rear section and having a flange which extends through the slot and is releasably coupled to the clamping member. Therefore, the clamping member along with the coin held thereby may be slidably extended through the opening in the lower end of the housing and retracted within the housing. When extended, the coin is useful for scraping a protective film from a game ticket.
