  • Patent number: 8332910
Abstract: A method of selectively controlling communication between a supervisory processor and a subscriber is provided. The method includes receiving a stream of data at the supervisory processor, controlling transmission of the stream of data from the supervisory processor to the subscriber based on an associated supervisory processor configuration, receiving an enabling configuration at the supervisory processor which alters the supervisory processor configuration, and transmitting at least a portion of the controlled stream of data from the supervisory processor to the subscriber based on the supervisory processor configuration.

  • Patent number: 7693147
Abstract: Methods and systems for communicating information between a narrowband circuit and a broadband circuit for conserving bandwidth while monitoring gas turbine combustion dynamics are provided. The method includes receiving a stream of data through the narrowband circuit, splitting the stream of data into a plurality of data packets, and transmitting each of the data packets to a predetermined list of sockets through the broadband circuit. The system includes a narrowband network segment communicatively coupled to a broadband network segment, and a data network split/relay device communicatively coupled to the broadband network segment programmed to receive a stream of data from a server communicatively coupled to the narrowband segment.

  • Publication number: 20100011404
Abstract: A TV Internet adapter receives an upgrade request for TV software, downloads an updated software image, and then changes mode through software emulation into a mass storage device from which the TV downloads the updated image.

  • Publication number: 20100001960
Abstract: Systems and methods produce imagery on a display in response inputs received from a directional input device, wherein the inputs correspond to directional instructions provided by a user. A first input corresponding to a first directional instruction in a first direction is received from the directional input device, and an object is identified based upon the first input. A second input corresponding to a second directional instruction from the user in a second direction different from the first direction is identified from the directional input device, and a function associated with the identified object is invoked in response to the second input.

  • Patent number: 7461509
Abstract: A method for determining a lean blow out condition for a combustor. In an exemplary embodiment, the method includes determining acoustical frequency data for the combustor, determining a combustor flame temperature based on the acoustical frequency data, determining an existing fuel/air ratio in the combustor based on the combustor flame temperature, and comparing the existing fuel/ratio to a lean blow out fuel/air ratio. A lean blow out condition for the combustor is indicated when the existing fuel/air ratio is about equal to the lean blow out fuel/air ratio.

  • Patent number: 7441411
Abstract: A method for determining when a combustor is experiencing hardware damage includes sensing acoustic vibrations of a plurality of combustor cans, determining a center frequency for each acoustic tone of the sensed acoustic vibrations within a predetermined frequency range, and indicating an alarm when a center frequency of one or more of the combustor cans changes in a different manner compared to a representative center frequency of the plurality of combustor cans.

  • Publication number: 20080235736
Abstract: When a new device such as a set-back box (SBB) connects to a TV, the menu of the TV is dynamically updated with an icon and an application identification associated with the new device, so that a viewer can select the new device from the menu.

  • Patent number: 7076402
Abstract: A system for compressing a set of data points is provided. The system includes a critical aperture compression module that is configured to discard one or more data points from the set of data points. The discarded one or more data points fall within a tolerance band surrounding a straight line that represents a trend of the discarded one or more data points. A remainder of the set of data points represents a compressed set of data points.

  • Patent number: 6839613
Abstract: A system and method for tuning a turbine comprises a turbine controller coupled to the turbine, a first computer system coupled to the turbine controller and located locally to the turbine, and a second computer system for exchanging data with the first computer system. The second computer system is located remotely from the turbine and exchanges data with the first computer system via a network connection such as the internet, an intranet or a virtual private network (VPN). Data relating to a characteristic such as turbine combustion dynamics and/or emissions is transmitted by the first computer system to the second computer system. The second computer system transmits control data over the network connection to the first computer to tune the turbine.
