  • Patent number: 6325506
Abstract: An interchangeable eyeglass lens system (10) is provided wherein the interchangeable eyeglass lens system (10) includes a central support member (20) having a clip means (30) mounted thereon for attachment to a standard pair of eyeglasses (12). The central support member (20) has first and second lateral projections (22 and 24) projecting therefrom. Additionally, first and second lens retaining members (52 and 54) are movably mounted on first and second lateral projections (22 and 24) so that the first and second lens retaining members (52 and 54) may be positioned along the length of the central support member (20) so that the interchangeable eyeglass lens system (10) may be mounted on a pair of eyeglasses (12) of any lateral width.

  • Patent number: 5185620
Abstract: An eyeglass system (10) is provided for mounting aesthetic trim members (20) on an eyeglass frame or attachment member (12). Aesthetic or trim members (20) are removably securable and slidably mounted on a portion of a frame transverse extension member (28) which in turn is rigidly secured to the eyeglass frame or attachment member (12). The aesthetic member (20) is releasably secured to the eyeglass frame (12) by a spring biased projection mechanism (46) mounted within the temple member (18) of the overall eyeglasses. The spring bias projection member (46) includes a projection member which is slidably displaceable into and out of a path of removal (42) of the aesthetic or trim member (20). In this manner, differing aesthetic members (20) may be interchanged by the user at his or her discretion.

  • Patent number: 4502765
Abstract: A lens support system (10) for rigidly securing a lens (12, 12') to a bridge mounting member (14) or an end piece member (14'). The lens (12, 12') includes a longitudinally extended slot (28) passing through the lens (12, 12') in a vertical direction (18) and defining longitudinally displaced end sections (30 and 32). The lens support system (10) includes a pair of vertically extending post members (50 and 52) which are mounted on an annular disk member (34) having a central opening (44). The post members (50 and 52) extend through the slot (28) and the post members (50, 52) matingly engage the end sections (30, 32) of the slot (28). The longitudinally displaced post members (50 and 52) prevent rotation of the lens (12, 12') about a vertical axis.
