  • Patent number: 9915262
Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus for pumping or compressing a fluid, the apparatus characterized by a compression chamber including an inlet and outlet, opposed front and rear vane members disposed inside said compression chamber, each vane member including at least one axially extending vane segment and at least one radially disposed open segment adapted to receive a vane segment of the opposed vane member, wherein adjacent vane segments of mating vane members form radial compartments there between. The assembly further includes a swing arm assembly for effecting equal and opposite rotational oscillation of the front and rear vane members such that adjacent vane segments oscillate toward and away from one another simultaneously, thereby creating a bellowing effect which draws fluid into the chamber via the inlet and discharges fluid out of the chamber via the outlet.

  • Patent number: 9188001
Abstract: The present invention relates to internal combustion engines and more particularly reciprocating piston engines utilizing Scotch yokes to translate rectilinear movement to rotary motion. In particular, the piston and/or pistons of the engine of the present invention can be placed in their topmost position for a period of time for the effective ignition and combustion of the air/fuel mixture for a given fuel charge, hence therefore providing an increased efficiency of the piston engine with a more efficient coupling between the piston and/or the power shaft driving the crank.

  • Patent number: 9163631
Abstract: The present invention relates to an apparatus which may be in the form of a pump or compressor and which can function to compress or accelerate a fluid such as air, gas, gaseous mixtures and/or liquid. In particular, the invention provides a mechanism in which fluid can be admitted and then discharged continuously from each of the radial compartments that make up the compressor chamber.

  • Patent number: 9068635
Abstract: The present invention relates to an assembly for translating linear movement to rotary motion, and in particular to an improved relationship between a linearly reciprocal member such as a yoke structure and associated piston, and a rotatable shaft such as a crank shaft. The invention could be used in any application where motion is to be translated from rotary to linear or vice versa, such as in compressors for example.

  • Publication number: 20110036323
Abstract: A combustion engine wherein said engine includes a cylinder chamber, a cylindrical piston adapted to move up and down within a defined passageway provided for by said cylinder chamber. The piston is characterised in having at one end of the piston a segment of the circumferential edge of the piston end at a raised elevation with respect to a diametrically opposed circumferential edge segment of said piston end, such that the end face of the piston is configured as an ellipse. The cylinder chamber passageway has an ellipse end configuration of comparable dimension and inclination to the ellipse piston end face, such that when the ellipse piston face is moved up the cylinder passageway during a compression stroke and at the moment of combustion ah ignited mix of air and fuel injected into the cylinder has a contactable surface area of the ellipse face of the piston to power a return of the piston to its lower position inside the cylinder chamber passageway after the combustion event.
