    Abstract: A hybrid multi-radionuclide sealed source for use in brachytherapy comprising a plurality of radionuclides is disclosed. The differing decay rates of the radionuclides in the hybrid multi-radionuclide sealed source combine a large initial dose of radiation followed by an extended dose of radiation contained within the single source. The sealed source may comprise a seed, a flexible strand, a rigid strand, a wire, a coil or a catheter.
