  • Publication number: 20220378007
Abstract: A system for mitigating airborne pathogens from a livestock house is disclosed. In an embodiment, there is disclosed a cross-flow ventilation system, which is fluidly connected to a livestock house and configured to control the air quality and movement by introducing ambient air into at least one air filtration system that is attached to a side wall of the house; conditioning the air in the air filtration system by performing at least one step selected from filtering, cooling, disinfecting, or pressurizing the air; introducing the conditioned air into an air chamber; flowing the conditioned air from the air chamber into the house through at least one ventilation panel to the opposing sidewall with a laminar or substantially laminal flow of air; and removing the air from the house using an exhaust fan attached to a side wall opposite the side wall containing the air filtration system.

  • Publication number: 20170066056
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a cemented carbide and/or cermet comprising the steps of: a) providing a powder comprising metal carbide and binder metal and optionally metal nitride(s); b) mixing the powder composition under vacuum; c) adding at least one organic binder to the powder composition; d) mixing the at least one organic binder with the powder composition under vacuum and raising the temperature to a predetermined temperature and keeping the temperature for a predetermined time until the organic binder has melted; e) subjecting the obtained mixture of step d) to forming and sintering processes; wherein one or more dispersing agents is added to the powder composition in step a).

  • Patent number: 6591595
Abstract: A gasoline engine powered walk behind brush cutter for small trees and the like has a vertical blade available for cutting low-lying tree limbs and other vegetation and has a horizontal blade for cutting small tree trunks or the like. A manual grappler is affixed to the frame of the brush cutter to direct the vegetation into, for example the vertical cutting blade. This device is particularly useful for clearing shrubbery and other vegetation from overgrown lots and in confined areas where larger vehicles cannot maneuver.

  • Patent number: 4209457
Abstract: A process for the production of a fluorobenzonitrile wherein a chlorobenzonitrile having a chlorine atom in an ortho- or para- position with respect to a nitrile group is heated with an alkali metal fluoride at a temperature between 200.degree. and 250.degree. C., in the presence of sulpholane.

  • Patent number: 4164517
Abstract: A method of preparing a fluoronitrobenzene containing a fluorine atom in the para position with respect to the nitro group, comprising heating a polychloronitrobenzene or chloronitrobenzene containing a chlorine atom in the para position with respect to the nitro group with an alkali metal fluoride in the presence of sulpholane.

  • Patent number: 4109430
Abstract: Panels constructed from a light weight core bonded to specially shaped perimeter members such that the vertical members overlap and interlock with similar members on adjacent panels whereby transverse motion of adjacent panels toward the common center line serves to urge adjoining panels into close abutment, top and bottom runners with an elastomerically biased member mating with the horizontal perimeter members such as to grip the panels inserted between them while providing a centering force which serves to both align the panels and abut them to form a continuous batten free wall without the use of any other mechanical fastenings. Provision is made for locking the biased member in order to inhibit the removal of panels.Such demountable partition walls may be erected and dismantled without the use of tools or skills or interference with the building structure or furnishings.

  • Patent number: 3999884
Abstract: A propeller nozzle provided with duct means whereby fluid may be circulated from the area of higher pressure adjacent the lowermost propeller blade position to an area of lower pressure adjacent the uppermost blade positon in order to equalise the pressure differential across the vertical diameter of a propeller disc resulting from the different depth of submergence. This reduces the amplitude of cyclic stress acting upon the roots of the propeller blades.

  • Patent number: 3961591
Abstract: A propeller nozzle or duct in which the walls thereof terminate in two or more planes inclined symmetrically about an axis normal to the nozzle or duct centerline with one or more deflecter rudders pivotedly mounted across the opening so formed such that by swinging the rudder(s) one half of the exit area may be closed and the propeller race diverted through the remaining open area under the guidance of the rudder(s) upon which the race reacts to develop a steering force. The turning capabilities of a fixed nozzle or duct are thereby improved whilst wetted area may be reduced and propulsive efficiency increased by recovery of rotational energy otherwise lost to the wake. When used in conjunction with a pivoted steering nozzle a reverse thrust may be developed.
