  • Patent number: 5799401
Abstract: An annular base carries a moveable cam member. Downwardly extending circumferentially arranged arcuate blades are mounted along the outer edge of the base to form a circle. Downwardly extending circumferentially arranged arcuate blades are pivotly mounted along the inner edge of the base to form a circle within the circle of fixed blades. Springs are interposed between radially aligned pairs of blades. The apparatus is positioned over the bagel such that the blades enter the interior of the bagel. The cam member cooperates with the moveable blades to move each blade in a substantially radial direction, against the intervening spring. The blades move from a position spaced from the aligned fixed blade to a position proximate to the aligned blade, as the cam member is moved, causing the dough to be pinched between the aligned blades. The dough is extracted as the apparatus is removed from the bagel.

  • Patent number: 4963314
Abstract: The sound of the swing of a golf club is sensed and actuates a circuit to randomly select one of a plurality of visually distinctive indicia, such as different colored LEDs or flags, for a fraction of a second. One set of indicia is located on the ground proximate the ball. In order to observe and identify the selected indicia, the golfer must keep his head down and steady during the swing. A second set of identical indicia may be provided for use by an instructor. The second set of indicia may be located remotely from the first.

  • Patent number: 4853625
Abstract: For use with a circuit tester having a pointed probe tip, the clip has a "U"-shaped configuration formed of first and second moveably connected wire clamping elements which define a recess. The elements are spreadable to accept the wire and biased toward a closed position to retain the wire securely within aligned channels provided for this purpose. Openings extend through the elements and intersect the channels to permit a pointed probe tip to extend through the clip, pierce the wire insulation and contact the wire. Finger grip portions, extending from the elements, may be provided to facilitate spreading of the elements. The clip may be formed of a single flexible molded plastic part or may be two rigid parts, hingedly connected and spring loaded towards the closed position.

  • Patent number: 4361800
Abstract: A probe extends from a two-part plastic housing. The first part has an externally threaded cylindrical section, which is adapted to mate in screw fashion with an internally threaded cylindrical section of the second part. A member is inserted between the parts and includes a cylindrical portion, receivable within the threaded section of the first part for structural reinforcement of the housing, and a flange, positioned adjacent the rim of the first part, to properly locate the member. In one embodiment, the first part and the member are provided with oppositely directed slots which align to form a radially extending channel through which a lead extends. The sides of the channel engage the lead to provide strain protection. A spare bulb mount is provided on the member and extends into a cavity formed in the second part. In a second, self-powered, embodiment, the structure of the member is modified to eliminate the bulb mount to permit a battery to be received within the cavity of the second part.
