  • Patent number: 11484908
Abstract: Web lifter and/or stabilizer and method of lifting and/or stabilizing a travelling web and for coating a web. The device creates a web hold down force via a negative pressure slot at its exit side, which draws the web down against the surface on the entry side. The device can be actuated to move the web relative to a slot die coater off the die lips and stop the application of slurry to the web, thereby creating uncoated regions on the web surface. The device can then be actuated to move the web back into contact with the coater to start the application of slurry to the web, thereby creating coated regions on the web surface. Web lifting can be accomplished by rotating the device in first and second directions to lift the web off of the slot die coater and return the web back into contact with the coater.

  • Patent number: 10265719
Abstract: An improved system for applying a coating to a sheet is disclosed. The system allows precise control of the actuation of the valves and movement of the nozzle to create a plurality of coating profiles. The system includes a controller, which is used to actuate the valves to begin and terminate the flow of material onto the sheet through a nozzle. In addition, the controller may move the nozzle from its operative position to an inoperative position away from the sheet. In some embodiments, a fluid displacement mechanism is used. The controller is also able to coat the opposite side of the sheet. Registration of the coating can be programmed to be in exact alignment, or advanced or delayed by a specific amount.

  • Publication number: 20060102864
Abstract: Electric drive for a switching valve, the switching valve having such a drive, and a regenerative thermal oxidizer including the switching valve and drive system. The electric drive system allows for the starting and stopping of the rotation of a rotary valve with accurate positioning. The stopping of the valve includes dissipation of the kinetic energy of the valve by electric means. The valve is allowed to move vertically and oscillating rotary motion is possible. The drive system preferably includes a gear, gearbox, variable speed drive and at least one positioning sensor. Valve acceleration and deceleration can be carried out in a controlled fashion and with repeatability, so that the final end position of the valve is consistent. The accommodation of vertical movement of the valve is also within the scope of the present invention.

  • Patent number: 6142929
Abstract: A sexual stimulation apparatus for the sexual gratification of a woman or man, by simulating vaginal or anal intercourse, which generally includes a long hollow box or tube; with a seat for two persons on top; inside the container mechanical levers and cranks powered by an electric gear reduction motor; an on/off switch; a power indicator light; a ground fault interrupt circuit; a rheostat; and a dildo mounted on the end of a lever which is positioned underneath the seat so the dildo extends through a hole in the seat and thrusts in a generally vertical motion. The rotational speed of the electric motor is reduced by a gear box and is further reduced by the rheostat. The gear box rotates a hub. The hub has a radially mounted bar. A short, generally vertical rod with ball joints on each end is the link between the end of the bar and the end of a horizontal lever. This configuration acts to convert the rotational motion of the motor into the vertical reciprocating motion of the lever.
