  • Patent number: 7789361
Abstract: A transfer device for transferring an apparatus from one support to another support. The transfer device is comprised of a housing and two movable clamping elements that are mounted to the housing. Each of the clamping elements is movable between a support-clamping position and a non-clamping, release position. An actuator is in operative engagement with the two clamping elements to move each of the clamping elements between the support-clamping position and the release position. The actuator has a first actuator position wherein one of the clamping elements is in the support-clamping position and another of the clamping elements is in the release position. In a second position, one of the clamping elements is in the release position and the other of the clamping elements is in the support-clamping position.

  • Patent number: 7314200
Abstract: A support and transport system for a patient care apparatus comprised of a first arm assembly connected to a stationary support and a second arm assembly connected to a patient transfer vehicle. An end cap for supporting a patient care apparatus is selectively attachable to the first arm assembly and to the second arm assembly. Locking means are provided on the end cap for locking the end cap onto one of the first and second arm assemblies. The other of the first and second arm assemblies is detachable from the end cap only when the end cap is locked onto the one of the first and second arm assemblies.

  • Publication number: 20070032259
Abstract: A mobile telecommunication device can include voice signal monitoring. A characteristic of a signal produced in the telecommunication device can be monitored that is directly or indirectly indicative of a volume of a user's voice spoken into the device. A comparator can be provided for comparing the characteristic or characteristics to one or more threshold values. The comparator can be comprised of electronic circuitry, software or a combination of the two. In any case, an alerting system is provided that is responsive to the output of the comparator, for automatically alerting the user of the device when the characteristic is outside a desired range.
