Abstract: A system, method and apparatus for configuring a person detection sensor. The person detection sensor may limit its transmissions in accordance with a pre-configured dwell time. The person detection sensor may receive a new dwell time from a personal communication device. When the new dwell time is received, it is stored in memory and is then used to regulate the number of transmissions of the person detection sensor in accordance with the new dwell time.

Abstract: The housing has a spindle that accepts a spool of a roll of tape. The spindle has retention fingers that can either exert pressure against the spool or the retention fingers can connect with a detent on the inner surface of the spool. Biasing alignment fingers are built into the housing to exert a spring pressure against the roll of tape in a direction that is substantially parallel to the spindle to aid in registering an edge of the roll of tape with an outer edge of the housing. A base surface of the device has an opening through which an end of the roll of tape exits. The tape rides over a fixed or movable wear surface adjacent to the opening. A cutting edge is substantially adjacent to and pointing away from the opening.

A masking tape according to the present invention comprises a substrate having a top surface, a bottom surface, and at least one masking edge. The bottom surface of the substrate has an adhesive layer applied thereto. An absorbent edge coating is applied to at least one masking edge of the substrate so as to at least substantially prevent liquids addressed to the at least one coated masking edge from being absorbed into the substrate of the tape and from passing between the bottom surface of the tape and a surface to which the tape has been applied.
