  • Patent number: 5131029
Abstract: A cellular telephone dialing controller comprising an operator switch, a state machine, digitally stored audio prompts, and a Dual Tone Multi-Frequency signal generator, in which at each dialing step the operator hears sequentially the numerals zero, one, etc. and the operator "dials" by closing the operator's switch when the proper number is played. At completion of "dialing" the entire phone number is audibly replayed for operator approval, after which the call is automatically initiated, including the generation of Dual Tone Multi-Frequency as well as Off-Hook/On-Hook control signals, the entire dialing operation being completed without visual participation or use of the operator's hands, thereby ensuring driving safety.

  • Patent number: 5003598
Abstract: A secure communication system comprising signal manipulation and inverse signal manipulation means at the sending and receiving locations respectively, the signal manipulation processes being controlled by keying signals derived according to predetermined operations from another, unrelated signal, said signal being readily and reliably available at both sending and receiving locations.

  • Patent number: 4295205
Abstract: A solid state mass memory system, utilizing memory units other than rotating disc memories, compatible with existing external rotating disc memory equipment designed to operate in conjunction with rotating disc memory units only, includes means for simulating a rotating disc memory with respect to a disc memory controller. The system includes means for generating synthetic origin, sector and bit clocks for input to the computer disc controller, the pulses being several orders of magnitude faster than those obtainable with rotating disc memories. Upon detection by the controller of the proper sector, means are provided for halting the synthetic sector pulses while a normal read/write operation takes place. At the end, a further sector clock is generated, and the system may proceed to a further read/write operation or proceed in a standby mode in the absence of a read/write signal.

  • Patent number: 4189757
Abstract: A system for reading back data recorded as series of discrete regions of magnetization and including synchronizing data, in a magnetic medium, comprises a readback device generating read data pulses, the system further including a clock pulse generator comprising a clock pulse oscillator and circuitry for providing a Gray code signal at the output of the clock pulse generator. Read data pulse recording cicuitry connected to the readback device is responsive to data pulses and generates an output signal corresponding to the time of arrival of data pulses. An exclusive OR gate compares the output fom the clock pulse generator and the read data pulse circuitry, the output of the exclusive OR gate being connected to a negative AND gate, thereby providing a system clock based upon the clock pulse arriving at the OR gate nearest in time to a data pulse.
