  • Patent number: 6573446
Abstract: A installation system for mounting electrical receptacle boxes within a building structure. The electrical receptacle box has at least one of a front contact positioning device for contacting the front wall surface of a wall and a rear contact positioning device for contacting the rear surface of the wall to thereby position the electrical receptacle box with respect to the wall. A bracket for mounting the electrical receptacle box to a structural member includes a clamping bracket which exerts a clamping force on opposing faces of the structural component and is slidable along the length of the structural component before being fixedly secured thereto. Preferably, the clamping bracket includes an adjustable biasing portion which is deflectable to define a variable clamping gap.

  • Patent number: 6467173
Abstract: The present invention provides a combination utility retractable saw and knife device that comprises a handle member having a predetermined configuration and a knife blade disposed within a cavity formed in the handle member when in a retracted position. The knife blade member has a predetermined configuration. It further includes a saw blade disposed within a radially opposed cavity of such handle member when in a retracted position. Such combination device further includes a means engageable with the saw blade for connecting it with the handle and a means engageable with the knife blade for connecting it with the handle. There is also a means engageable with the saw blade for at least one of slidably moving and pivotably rotating the saw blade to an operable position, the means being at least partially disposed within the handle and a means engageable with the knife blade for slidably moving the knife blade member to an operable position, such means also being at least partially disposed within the handle.

  • Patent number: 5841068
Abstract: A device for a mounting electrical component includes a bracket and an electrical box. The bracket includes a U-shaped portion for being securely disposed to a stud or beam. An electrical box is mounted on the bracket. In one embodiment, the bracket may be configured such that an electrical box may be disposed on one side of the bracket facing in a first direction and a second electrical box may be disposed on the other side of the bracket facing in a second direction, which is opposite to the first direction. Thus, the first opening may be disposed on one side of a wall, while the second opening may be disposed on the second side of the wall. In the alternative, an electrical box in accordance with the invention may be used. The electrical box in accordance with the invention includes a first chamber having a first opening facing in a first direction and a second chamber having second opening facing in a second direction. The first and second directions are opposed.
