Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method of preparing a polycarbonate composition comprising melt blending a first polycarbonate prepared by interfacial polymerization and having hydroxy end groups that are capped with endcapping groups, with a second polycarbonate prepared by melt polymerization and having hydroxy end groups that are capped with endcapping groups, wherein the second polycarbonate has a lower mole percent of endcapping groups than that of the first polycarbonate; wherein an article having a thickness of 3.2 mm and molded from the polycarbonate composition has a haze of less than 3 according to ASTM D1003-00; and wherein a flat article molded from the polycarbonate composition has a surface charge of ?2 to +2 kV. A polycarbonate composition and complex article prepared according to the method are also disclosed.

Abstract: A self propelled robotic vehicle that faithfully follows a portable receiver at a defined distance can sense an impending collision with a solid object in its path and stops prior to collision. The vehicle observes objects that are parallel to its course and if within a distance of <200 mm inhibits the steering such that the vehicle is not able to collide even if the receiver instructs a convergence path. The vehicle stops and ceases moving if it contacts any solid object. The vehicle can sense unsafe gradients and ceases following if acceptable operating limits are exceeded. The vehicle can be used as a golf caddy, transport vehicle or cart, robotic pallet and robotic assistant.

Abstract: In accordance with various aspects of the present invention, a method and system for an antenna modular sub-array super component is presented. The modular sub-array super component allows for multiple antenna product designs to utilize a common low cost aperture element assembly block, quantities of which may be scaled up or down to suit the physical, performance, and power requirements of a specific antenna system. More specifically, a method and system for connecting various components of an antenna modular sub-array using a bar with leads connector is discussed. The bar with leads may connect antenna subcomponents or subassemblies.

Abstract: A ventilation device is provided for location at the outer edge of a window frame and comprises side members defining inlet and outlet portions. The members provide opposing sockets to receive plates completing a closed duct in the device for air flow, the width of this device being varied by providing plates of different width. The ends of the duct include closure assemblies, and the side members preferably comprise exactly similar structures. Weather members are fitted to the side members by releasable fastening means. In an alternative embodiment, the side members are dissimilar, one integrally carrying the plates while the other includes the socket for the plates.
