  • Patent number: 11959325
Abstract: A device for a track- or rail-mounted closure drive assembly can include a lever and cam arrangement configured to drive an engagement member between an engaged position and a disengaged position, the engaged position allowing motor drive of a closure and the disengaged position disconnecting the drive from the motor to the closure; and a rotating body including one or more camming surfaces and one or more peripheral surfaces, the peripheral surfaces including visual indicia to indicate to a user an orientation of the one or more camming surfaces and hence whether the engagement member is in the engaged position or the disengaged position.

  • Patent number: 11914782
Abstract: In some implementations, a computing device can be configured to automatically turn off notifications when generating a notification would cause a disturbance or be unwanted by a user. The device can be configured with quiet hours during which notifications that would otherwise be generated by the computing device can be suppressed. In some implementations, quiet hours can be configured as a time period with a start time and an end time. In some implementations, quiet hours can be derived from application data. For example, calendar data, alarm clock data, map data, etc. can be used to determine when quiet hours should be enforced. In some implementations, the device can be configured with exceptions to quiet hour notification suppression. In some implementations, the user can identify contacts to which the quiet hours notification suppression should not be applied.

  • Publication number: 20040137605
Abstract: The present invention provides methods and apparatus for performing biological reactions on a substrate surface that use a low volume of sample fluid, accommodate substrates as large as or larger than a conventional microscope slide, accommodate a plurality of independent reactions, and accommodate a substrate surface having one or more hydrogel-based microarrays attached thereto. The invention further provides an apparatus that allows introduction of fluids in addition to sample fluid into each reaction chamber via standard pipet tips and associated pipettor apparatus. The invention further an apparatus that increases reaction reproducibility, increases reaction efficiency, and reduces reaction duration.

  • Publication number: 20040043479
Abstract: The invention relates generally to methods and apparatus for conducting analyses, particularly microfluidic devices. In preferred aspects, the devices are fabricated using ceramic multilayer technology to form devices in which parallel, independently controlled molecular reactions, such as nucleic acid amplification reactions including the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) can be performed. Additionally, the devices can include and comprise micro-gas chromatographs similarly fabricated from ceramics.

  • Patent number: 5904955
Abstract: An electronic device in a cavity in a mold is encapsulated by a composite plastic having two materials placed, respectively, in sequential locations in a reservoir in the mold. The first material has desirable properties when in contact with the surface of the device, e.g., better adhesion. The second and different material has other desirable properties, e.g., mechanical strength, low moisture permeability, etc. The first location is first in line in a direction through the mold chambers to the cavity. The two-part encapsulant is injected into the cavity without significant turbulence so as to avoid much mixing of the two materials. This creates a boundary layer of the first material which preferentially applies a coating to the device while the second material substantially fills the bulk of the space in the mold cavity. A composite encapsulation is formed having overall superior properties.

  • Patent number: 5065428
Abstract: A secure answering machine allows both secure and non-secure information to be recorded by incorporating a digital signal processor (DSP) and both a secure and non-secure RAM. The secure RAM is powered entirely by battery. The battery is then connected to the housing of the answering machine such that when the housing is tampered with, the power from the battery is shut off eliminating all information stored on the secure RAM. The secure RAM is only accessed using an encrypting code.
