  • Patent number: 5645382
Abstract: A controlled atmosphere machining process which involves a work station for machining a workpiece with an inert gas in an enclosed environment which will not support combustion. The process further includes a vacuum system which removes particulate matter occurring during the machining process and transports the matter to a collecting tank. The inert fluid is recycled through a filter and cooling system and continues to be drawn by the vacuum system into the enclosed machining area of each work station.

  • Patent number: 4188787
Abstract: Disclosed are methods and apparatus for controlling the flow of hydraulic fluid to and from a work cylinder. The disclosed system includes a reversible variable displacement pump interconnected between a work cylinder and a selector valve which may connect the pump with any of a plurality of fluid reservoirs. The fluid reservoirs contain hydraulic fluid at variable pressures so that the pressure at the work cylinder may be raised to pressures well above the pressure differential capacity of the pump at maximum flow rate by selectively increasing the pressure on the reservoir side of the pump. The system includes means for controlling the pressure at each port of the pump so that the pressue on the output port is always greater than the pressure on the input port regardless of the direction of flow through the pump and regardless of pressures at other points in the system.

  • Patent number: 4051969
Abstract: A load carry arrangement with a storage and conveyance of load-carrying roller carts in a loading vehicle in which an endless conveyor is adapted to extend along the longitudinal platform of a cargo carrying vehicle. The arrangement includes a plurality of roller cart-supporting carriers fastened thereto which are adapted to be positioned on a cargo platform in predetermined spaced relationships, and which will facilitate the ready loading and unloading of cargo-carrying roller carts relative to the carriers while assuring the safe storage thereof in the cargo-carrying vehicle. No modification to the carriers or other containers are required, as they are emplaced directly onto the cart-carriers or slave pallets for transit. Space utilization within the truck or other vehicle is maximized with the present design, and the stability of the load emplacement permits ready, rapid cycling of goods within the truck, as in indexing for delivery.
