  • Publication number: 20170104566
Abstract: A base station in a communications network broadcasts a cell-specific instruction to a plurality of mobile terminals in a cell served by the base station. The cell-specific instruction indicates that an uplink symbol has been semi-statically configured for aperiodic sounding reference signal (SRS) transmission over multiple subsequent subframes. The base station dynamically determines that a first mobile terminal of the plurality of mobile terminals is to use the uplink symbol for SRS transmission in a given one of the multiple subsequent subframes. In response, the base station signals a first terminal-specific instruction to the first mobile terminal. The first terminal-specific instruction is distinct from the cell-specific instruction and indicates that the first mobile terminal is to use the uplink symbol for SRS transmission in the given subframe.

  • Publication number: 20170099661
Abstract: The present invention relates to allowing configuring CSI reporting (step S-224, 310) on radio resources that are allocated over a plurality of sub frames on Physical Uplink Shared Channel (PUSCH). Allocation of said radio resources (steps S-202, 404) can be performed by semi-persistent allocation or by using Transmission Time Interval (TTI) bundling. By using either semi-persistent scheduling or TTI-bundling as decided by an eNB (104, 204, 600) the UE (102, 202, 500) can be configured to report CSI (step S-224, 310) for a plurality of UL transmissions. By allocating radio resources by using semi-persistent scheduling, the signaling overhead, which can be substantial for dynamic scheduling of radio resources, decreases. By using TTI-bundling the coverage of the CSI-reports increases.

  • Patent number: 9614602
Abstract: The invention relates to devices and methods for signalling control information associated with transmission of data over a wireless channel. A second communication device receives (S2) data from a first communication device, wherein the data comprises an indication of recommended precoders and a recommendation of a first transmission rank to possibly use during transmission. The second communication device determines (S4) a second transmission rank to use for transmitting data, and transmits (S6) a confirmation message to the first communication device. The confirmation message comprises a confirmation that transmission of data from the second communication device is using at least parts of each recommended precoder associated with a frequency resource that falls within the transmission of data and an indicator of the second transmission rank to use.

  • Publication number: 20170093549
Abstract: A method and an arrangement in a user equipment for reporting Channel State Information, CSI, and a method and an arrangement in a base station for obtaining CSI are provided. The user equipment is in connection with the base station in a cellular communication network. After receiving a receiving a grant in a subframe n to be used for CSI reporting, from the base station, the user equipment determines subframe type of a subframe n+p. • Publication number: 20170078073
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and arrangement for controlling re-transmission in a user equipment supporting uplink spatial multiplexing. The method comprises the steps of detecting an uplink grant on a physical downlink control channel, the uplink grant being valid for at least one transport block; detecting that at least one transport block is disabled, such that no grant is associated with the at least one transport block; and interpreting the at least one disabled transport block as an acknowledgement, ACK, of previous transmission corresponding to said disabled transport block irrespective of which indication is received on the reception status feedback channel for said previous transmission.

  • Publication number: 20170078005
Abstract: A method for assisting the adaptation of a signal from a first node to a second node is provided. The first node communicates with the second node in a wireless communication system over a radio link. The second node has a codebook comprising a set of possible information alternatives for assisting the adaptation of a signal received from the first node. The second node may select an information alternative from the codebook and send it to the first node to assist the first node in adapting the signal. The first node is configured with a number of subsets, each comprising a part of the possible information alternatives. The first node requests that the second node restrict the selection of information alternatives to one of the subsets, and in response, receives an information alternative from the second node that is selected from among the subsets configured according to the configuration request.

  • Publication number: 20170070319
Abstract: In a transmitter or transceiver, codewords from HARQ processes can be mapped or assigned to various layers for transmission and/or retransmission of information on a radio channel. • Patent number: 9591627
Abstract: A method for wirelessly transmitting data using a plurality of transmission layers includes estimating a number of data vector symbols to be allocated to one or more user data codewords during the subframe and determining a number of bits in the one or more user data codewords. The method also includes calculating a nominal number of control vector symbols to allocate to control information based, at least in part, on the estimated number of data vector symbols and the determined number of bits in the one or more user data codewords. Additionally, the method includes determining an offset value based, at least in part, on a number of layers over which the wireless terminal will be transmitting during the subframe and calculating a final number of control vector symbols by multiplying the nominal number of control vector symbols and the offset value.

  • Patent number: 9591655
Abstract: The invention relates to methods and arrangements in a transmitting node for enabling a receiving node to perform measurements on interference caused by transmissions from at least one transmission point controlled by the transmitting node on receptions at the receiving node. The transmitting and receiving nodes are comprised in a wireless communications system. The transmitting node determines an interference measurement resource, IMR, for the receiving node. The receiving node is expected to measure interference on the IMR. The transmitting node then transmits at least one interfering signal on the IMR. The at least one interfering signal is not expected to be decoded or coherently measured upon by any node served by the transmitting node.

  • Patent number: 9584280
Abstract: Orthogonality in cyclic shift (CS) and orthogonal cover code (OCC) selection for DMRS in MIMO is improved by new nDMRS to nDMRS(2) mapping patterns. Values in the mapping tables are arranged in sets, with minimum CS separation between the values in each set. Additionally, the semi-static nDMRS is independently configurable for each UL component carrier (CC) in the case of cross-CC scheduling in carrier aggregation, and the PHICH allocation formula that defines the allocation of the PHICH process relative to the kth codeword (CW) on the cth UL CC is a function of both the CS index nDMRS,k,c(2) that is dynamically assigned to a certain layer of the considered CW and the semi-static CS offset nDMRS,c(1) for the cth CC.

  • Patent number: 9565696
Abstract: The present invention relates to methods and apparatus for providing a more flexible configuration of sounding reference signal, SRS, transmission. This is achieved by dynamically triggering a mobile terminal to transmit SRS. Thus, embodiments of the invention include a method implemented by a base station in a communications network that semi-statically configures some uplink symbols for periodic SRS transmission and other uplink symbols for aperiodic SRS transmission. The method includes dynamically determining whether an uplink symbol that has been semi-statically configured for aperiodic SRS transmission is to be used by a given mobile terminal at a given time for SRS transmission. The method then further includes signaling a terminal-specific instruction that indicates said determination to the given mobile terminal.
