  • Patent number: 4604927
Abstract: In the art of cutting dies for layers of deformable stock material such as plastic, the improved cutting means combination and method which includes a razor blade cutting edge mounted on a punch press opposite a supporting cutting surface having a slot matching the shape of the razor blade cutting edge. The cutting edge is applied with appropriate pressure to the stack of material in the area of relief provided by the slot so that a clean efficient cut is effected through the stack of material. Preferably the razor blade cutting edge is a single blade so that problems such as material hang ups caused by incomplete cutting are minimized and/or completely eliminated.

  • Patent number: 4560067
Abstract: A bag pack and individual bags characterized by having handles which are integral extensions of the front and rear of said bag. The bags have a mouth which includes stress relief curves on both sides of an upperly extending tab. The tab includes at least one orifice adapted to securely surround a suspension means. Below or below and above and closely adjacent to said orifice is bonding means fastening all of said bag structures together and simultaneously contributing rigidity to said orifice. Below said bonding means an above the points of maximum amplitude of said stress relief curves is a line of preweakening in said tab to accommodate tear-off of individual bag structures from said pack.

  • Patent number: 4526639
Abstract: An apparatus and method of forming individual sealed plastic bags from a continuous web of a layflat tubular film material wherein the individual plastic bags, subsequent to the formation of bag seals and the separation of the film web into individual plastic bags, are intermittently and sequentially conveyed through a cooling zone which will allow for the cooling of the bag seals. Thereafter, the bags are serially conveyed to a bag stacking arrangement incorporating a stacker foot which will position the first or bottom bag of a stack being formed on a vacuum box which retains the bag in a fixed position and with subsequent bags being superimposed on preceding deposited bags and sealed thereto through the intermediary of heated needles depending from the stacker foot which will penetrate and concurrently seal the bags together at predetermined locations.

  • Patent number: 4476979
Abstract: A bag pack and individual bags characterized by having handles which are integral extensions of the front and rear of said bag. The bags have a bag mouth which includes stress relief curves on both sides of an upwardly extending tab. The tab includes at least one orifice which is positioned to create comparatively narrow webs which serve to be the tear-off points severing individual bags from the pack. The bags are bonded together via said tab at areas adjacent said orifice.

  • Patent number: 4360170
Abstract: An apparatus and method for the uninterrupted winding of continuously-fed malleable sheet material, such as plastic, paper, and textiles, which includes a roll feed mechanism, a first and second winding station, a sheet directing main frame which may be biased in the direction of either winding station so as to press the sheet onto the take up spindle located at the particular station, a sheet transfer means and an external control connected thereto in order to selectively transfer the continuously-feeding sheet from a full spindle to an empty spindle mounted at one of the winding stations.
