  • Publication number: 20160146499
Abstract: Improvements in an outside house vent that blocks embers, water and rain that can cause damage to a house of building. The prevention of fire and ember intrusion into a building prevents fires in homes where invalids and children are left alone. The prevention of water into structure further reduces the potential for mold growth in the attic or walls of a home or structure. The filtering further prevents intrusion of creatures such as but not limited to bugs, insects, bees, wasps, animals, critters and other flying and crawling animals from entering the building. The vent is a fireproof set of louver or filter pads with fire arresting screens that is passed through a wall that vents into the building. The vent can be installed on old and new construction to provide improved fire prevention, increase the value and salability in fire prone areas.

  • Patent number: 9212681
Abstract: A device comprising a shaft and a fastener. The device requires substantially no tools to apply while generally maintaining the basic shape of a common clevis pin and the robustness of a common cotter pin. The fastener passes through a bore hole in the shaft. A cap positions onto a shaft head, and includes a ridge that engages a slot in the shaft head. The cap and head have low profiles and are non-protuberant, so as to minimize snagging, inadvertent release, and/or damage to contacting objects. A plunger positions inside the shaft, passing through a plunger spring. The plunger spring provides a compressive force that presses against the fastener to hold it in place. Removing the cap reduces the compressive force. The shaft cannot be released by external pressure on the shaft head. A compressive element helps secure the fastener in a shaft cross bore.

  • Publication number: 20150193579
Abstract: In one example of exchanging medical imaging data between computer systems, input to execute a computer software application to exchange data with a server in a computer session is received while the computer executes another computer software application to exchange data with another server. In response to receiving the input, the computer software application is executed to provide multiple functionalities, one of which is a functionality to provide additional data to the server system using a mobile computer. In response to detecting the selection of the functionality to provide additional data to the server using the mobile computer, an identifier that identifies the computer session in which the data is being exchanged between the computer and the server is displayed at the computer. Data can be received using the mobile computer by scanning the identifier.

  • Publication number: 20150189859
Abstract: Disclosed is an animal waste collecting device. The device includes a harness that includes an adjustable waist strap that is attached to a back strap and a pair of leg straps. The leg straps are connected by means of a connecting rod of a receptacle holder, wherein the receptacle holder is positioned adjacent to an animal's buttocks. The connecting rod includes a rotatable rod attached thereto, wherein the rotatable rod includes a pair of bag attachment rods for holding a disposable bag thereon. The connecting rod is connected to the pull straps so that when the pull straps are actuated, the connecting rod moves the rotatable rod and the bag attachment rods. In this way, the disposable bag can be automatically positioned to collect animal waste as the animal defecates, thereby eliminating the need for an animal owner to pick up animal waste by hand.

  • Publication number: 20150182466
Abstract: A method for preparing hydro/organo gelators from disaccharide sugars by biocatalysis and their use in enzyme-triggered drug delivery. Controlled delivery of an anti-inflammatory, chemopreventive drug is achieved by an enzyme-triggered drug release mechanism via degradation of encapsulated hydrogels. The hydro- and organo-gelators are synthesized in high yields from renewable resources by using a regioselective enzyme catalysis and a known chemopreventive and anti-inflammatory drug, curcumin, is encapsulated in the gel matrix and released by enzyme triggered delivery. The release of the drug occurs at the physiological temperature and control of the drug release rate is achieved by manipulating the enzyme concentration and temperature. The by-products formed after the gel degradation clearly demonstrated the site specificity of degradation of the gelator by enzyme catalysis.

  • Publication number: 20150179169
Abstract: A system is described for improving results of Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) systems. ASR's typically match patterns of incoming sounds to phonemes associated with sounds in a specified language, then associates phonemes with words. ASR's typically consider combinations of up to three phonemes and up to three words. The limitation to small combinations of phonemes and words is one source of errors in ASR's. The invention described here post processes the output from ASR's. In one embodiment, the method forms long combinations of phonemes and words to improve ASR results. In another embodiment, the method detects errors by finding inconsistencies in the ASR's output and then corrects these errors. Other embodiments correct errors that are phonetically close to the correct words, determines the right list of words from a large expected list of sentences, and further improves recognition where word errors are phonetically close to the correct words.
