Abstract: A collar adapted to be engaged about a rotating cutting tool for continuously transporting a cutting fluid from a stationary source to the cutting tool including outer and inner rings in sealed relationship forming a cutting fluid channel and at least one low friction material containing channel and a pair of tenon keys positioned in curvilinear grooves on the surface of the inner ring to provide a sealed passageway for the flow of the cutting fluid from the collar to the cutting tool, and cutting tools employing the same.

Abstract: An apparatus and tool assembly containing the same which includes a rotatable ring and a series of bearings in contact with the inner surface of the rotatable ring wherein the bearings are angled with respect to the longitudinal axis of the cutting tool assembly so that when the ring is rotated, it moves axially toward the tool holder along a helical path to thereby compress a tube containing the shaft of the cutting tool and thereby secure the cutting tool in the tool holder.

Abstract: A cutting insert assembly including a cutting insert having at least one prismatic face wherein one of said prismatic faces engages a corresponding face of a wedge, wherein the cutting insert has a positive rake angle and excellent heel clearance to obtain the benefits of both positive and negative rake angle cutting inserts.

Abstract: A locking assembly for locking components of a machine tool together including a rotatable bar having wedges reversibly movable thereon for simultaneously engaging wedge receiving spaces of one of the tool components while a portion of the wedges are secured in corresponding space in another tool component to thereby provide full face to face interlocking engagement of the wedges and the tool components. Machine tool components interlocked with the locking assembly of the invention which may include a vibrational energy dissipating cavity are also disclosed.
