Patents by Inventor George L. Irizarry

George L. Irizarry has filed for patents to protect the following inventions. This listing includes patent applications that are pending as well as patents that have already been granted by the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).

  • Patent number: 11122664
Abstract: Exemplary embodiments are directed towards safety systems associated with ultra-fast fault signal pulses to increase the fault signal pulses from milliseconds to seconds to energize external devices (e.g., LED lights). This is turn will alert the operators that the system is operational or a fault was detected. The fault signal width pulses are extended to drive or trigger external devices, such as external relays, which in turn completes a circuit to energize any external devices.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: September 14, 2021
Assignee: The United States of America, as represented by the Secretary of the Navy

  • Patent number: 10095193
Abstract: Exemplary apparatuses and methods are provided which provide a safety system that automatically controls charge and discharge of high voltage (HV) capacitors upon application or removal of HV power to a HV system (e.g., a surveillance radar) that includes different timing and sequencing for turn-on/turn operations. In one embodiment, an apparatus and method automatically discharges high voltage (HV) capacitors when HV power is deactivated. Another aspect of an embodiment of the invention automatically deactivates a HV capacitor shunt when the HV system's main HV power is applied or activated. Additionally, an exemplary apparatus requires no human interaction when shunting the HV capacitors, increasing electrical system safety.
