  • Patent number: 8899141
Abstract: Certain embodiments disclose rate reducer systems and methods to reduce the cyclic rate of self-powered firearms. The reduction in cyclic rate is achieved by mechanically delaying the firing step in the cycle of functioning. This delay is achieved by temporarily latching an inertia weight at the rear of the recoil stroke while the recoiling parts return to battery (i.e. a firing position). When the recoiling parts go into battery, the inertia weight is released and urged forward. At the forward end of its travel, the inertia weight actuates the firing mechanism.

  • Patent number: 7841279
Abstract: A high pressure cartridge case is provided for firearms with blowback operating systems. The cartridge case is provided with a primer support member that supports a primer in a rearward end of a cartridge case. The support member is slideable rearwardly in the cartridge case when the cartridge is fired. The components expand to seal with the cartridge case to prevent the escape of gas around the support member when the propellant is ignited.

  • Publication number: 20040025393
Abstract: A firearm is provided with a weapon operating system for firing large cartridges. The firearm may be a shoulder-fired, multi-shot, semiautomatic grenade launcher for firing grenade cartridges. The grenade launcher includes a magazine with a receptacle that holds one or more cartridges, a barrel, and a receiver coupled between the magazine and the barrel. The receiver includes a lightweight weapon operating system. Springs may be provided between the receiver and the magazine to isolate the receiver and barrel from the mass of cartridges in the magazine and the mounting resistance. A vernier feed system is disclosed for disengaging stacked cartridges in a tubular magazine from one another. A lifter based cartridge feed system is disclosed for magazine round control and/or chambering. A dwell is disclosed for retarding the breech lever after it has applied power to the accelerator lever during opening.

  • Patent number: 6637142
Abstract: A firearm assembly includes a stock and an action secured to the stock. The action includes a receiver, a barrel, and a recoil lug that is positionable adjacent a bearing seat of the stock. Various fastener assemblies are provided to assemble the action to the stock with the recoil lug firmly seated against the bearing seat, thus providing longitudinal and torsional stability to the firearm assembly. There is further provided a stock having a bedding portion that includes a surface forming a channel in the bedding block. Either the channel or the receiver includes a number of ribs extending therefrom that support the receiver in the bedding channel when the action is secured to the stock. There is also provided a stock having an action mounting insert. A compressible member is provided between the action mounting insert and the stock.
