  • Patent number: 5895174
Abstract: A beach replenishment system comprising a plurality of barriers mutually separated by troughs. Each barrier comprises two arms mutually attached at a barrier arm angle. The intersection of the arms defines a barrier vertex. An extreme of each arm opposite the barrier vertex terminates in a barrier arm end wall. Each arm comprises a descending series of parallel terraces. Each terrace comprises a shoulder and a valley, or, in an alternate embodiment, a land separated from a shoulder by a valley. The lowermost shoulder borders a ramp which is substantially parallel to a surface upon which the barrier rests, whereby receding water is projected away from the barrier and erosion under the barrier is thus minimized. Each arm is supported by vertical and horizontal braces. Runout posts are installed opposite the troughs, and barrier posts are installed opposite each barrier.

  • Patent number: 5875785
Abstract: A pipe tool and method of filling. The pipe tool comprises a handle rigidly attached to a spade at an angle of approximately 225 degrees. A cross-sectional shape of an upper extreme of the spade is that of an arc of approximately 70 degrees, and a lower extreme whose shape is that of a spherical section. A cross-sectional thickness of said spade decreases linearly from the spade upper extreme to the spade lower extreme. The handle has a tamper which is shaped like a half-circle.

  • Patent number: 5827235
Abstract: A method and apparatus for dispensing topical medication. The apparatus consists of a dispenser comprising a piston assembly slidably engaged with a housing, and a nozzle frictionally attached to the housing. The housing comprises an upper reservoir, lower reservoir and nozzle reservoir. The piston assembly comprises a piston attached to a rod, the rod reciprocating within a housing rod aperture, and the piston reciprocating within a housing bore. The upper reservoir is defined by a housing top, the housing bore, and the piston. The lower reservoir is defined by the piston, housing bore, and a lower reservoir floor. The upper reservoir communicates with the exterior of the housing by means of a normally closed upper reservoir valve, and with the lower reservoir by means of a normally open piston valve.

  • Patent number: 5746226
Abstract: Grooved pipes incorporating a bowl tobacco bore communicating with a groove, the groove communicating with a bowl smoke bore through a bowl smoke bore mouth, and a method of filling a pipe with tobacco. Groove configurations may include a V-groove or an attic groove. The method of filling includes the steps of filling a pipe loosely with tobacco, tamping the tobacco in a direction opposite the bowl smoke bore mouth, repeating as necessary, and then pressing down on a center of tobacco within the bowl tobacco bore until slight effort is required to draw on the pipe. In addition, a cylindrical tobacco insert having a tobacco insert plenum is disclosed. The tobacco insert may rest on a bowl tobacco bore ledge, or on a conical bowl tobacco bore lower surface.
