  • Patent number: 8357440
Abstract: The present invention provides for a plastic sheet, especially one used in the construction of a plastic trash bag, which provides improved tear propagation properties. The plastic sheet has a plurality of protuberances in the plastic sheet, the protuberances defining a first set of substantially parallel curvilinear lines in a first direction, and optionally, a second set of curvilinear lines in a second direction. The plurality of protuberances can be either indentations or protrusions in the plastic sheet, preferably formed through an embossing process. Preferably, the protuberances are circular in shape, but not necessarily uniform, and alternate between indentations and protrusions along the first, and possibly the second, curvilinear lines with the curvilinear lines preferably being wave-shaped.

  • Patent number: 7980453
Abstract: The present invention is a handled container for retail products. The handled container defines an upper opening wherein a first upper panel and a second upper panel together cover a substantial portion of the upper opening. The second upper panel is provided with a pair of substantially parallel cuts extending across the second upper panel to define a handle in the second upper panel. A first upper panel is shaped such that it provides access to the handle when the first upper panel is positioned above the second upper panel and both are in the closed position to substantially seal the handled container.

  • Publication number: 20110081103
Abstract: The present invention is directed toward a drawstring trash bag. The drawstring trash bag features an upper opening with a first and second hem extending along the upper opening of the bag. A first drawstring is disposed within the first hem while a second drawstring is disposed within the second hem of the bag. The first drawstring and the second drawstring have different elastic properties. Both drawstrings may be pulled through cut-outs that are centrally located on the respective first and second panels along the upper opening. The elastic drawstring preferably has an elastic recovery percentage that is at least 10 points greater than the elastic recovery percentage of the non-elastic drawstring.

  • Publication number: 20090151304
Abstract: The present invention provides an improved apparatus, method and system for packing and storing carry-out bags, especially bags known as T-shirt bags. In particular, the present invention comprises providing a packaging bag for securing a plurality of polymeric bags. The polymeric bags may be individually folded, or alternatively, folded as groups of polymeric bags. The polymeric bags are placed in the packaging bag and the air inside the packaging bag is removed. The outside, ambient pressure forces the packaging bag to compress onto the polymeric bags. The resulting packaging is generally dumbbell shaped because of the distribution of material in the polymeric bags which provides numerous advantages as discussed herein.

  • Publication number: 20090104388
Abstract: The present invention provides an offset folded polymeric bag. The offset folding polymeric bag defines a plurality of layers, wherein the plurality of layers is divided into two sets of layers and a primary opening is defined between the two sets of layers. The first set of layers has a different width than the second set of layers to inform the consumer as to particular order for unfolding the bag with the least amount of difficulty, thereby preventing consumer frustration with thin film plastic bags.

  • Patent number: 7506904
Abstract: A door handle lock assembly includes a housing configured to be attached to a door. A interconnecting member is rotatably and axially movably supported by the housing. A first handle is fixed to the interconnecting member at a first end of the interconnecting member and a second handle is fixed to the interconnecting member at a second end of the interconnecting member. The door is between the second handle and the housing. The door handle lock assembly is changed from a locked condition to an unlocked condition by axially moving the interconnecting member from a first position to a second position and then rotating the interconnecting member.

  • Publication number: 20080253699
Abstract: A plastic bag for holding materials comprising at least one polymeric panel defining the outer walls of the plastic bag. The at least one polymeric panel is interconnected to form a substantially cylindrical shape. The at least one polymeric panel defines a machine direction and a cross direction perpendicular to the machine direction. A plurality of substantially parallel rows on the at least one polymeric panel wherein the plurality of substantially parallel rows is comprised of a plurality of curvilinear areas. The plurality of curvilinear areas having a protrusion or an indentation in the at least one polymeric panel. The bag further comprises a plurality of substantially parallel neutral areas wherein each substantially parallel neutral area is defined by an area between two adjacent rows in the plurality of substantially parallel rows.

  • Publication number: 20080187254
Abstract: The present invention is a high capacity lobed plastic bag with additional length for securely storing trash, debris and/or other materials produced from a polymeric tube. The polymeric tube defines the outer wall of the plastic bag with an upper end and a lower end. The lower end of the polymeric tube is sealed to form the bottom of the plastic bag. The upper end of the polymeric tube defines the opening of the plastic bag and features a curvilinear configuration. The bag according to the present invention overcomes the length and capacity constraints of the prior art and has a length greater than 41 inches from the bottom of the bag to a lowest point defined by the curvilinear configuration at the opening of the plastic bag. Thus, the plastic bag with a length greater than 41 inches has an increased capacity.

  • Publication number: 20030114285
Abstract: A protective covering for a lumber stack is constructed by providing an appropriately sized sheet of heavy duty heat shrinkable plastic material, folding the side edges of the plastic sheeting material inwardly along spaced apart longitudinally extending lines to form top and bottom layers and joining the ends of the top and bottom layers to define a top layer which is imperforate throughout its entire length and width and a bottom layer which is imperforate throughout its entire length and width except for an opening extending the longitudinal center line of the bottom wall from end to the other. A lumber stack is received through the opening in the bottom wall thereby forming initially upwardly extending rectangularly shaped panels which are folded downwardly and secured to the ends of the lumber stack. The portions of the plastic sheeting extending adjacent the ends and the corners of the lumber stack are then heated to shrink the plastic sheeting into secure engagement with the lumber stack.
