  • Patent number: 5203582
Abstract: Providing an improved separable trailer tongue hitching device for a trailer is accomplished by constructing a trailer tongue having a coupling component which is easily separated from the main body of the tongue and coupled to a towing vehicle for the purpose of drawing the main body of the tongue into unison with the coupling component. A winch, which is suitably combined with the trailer or the trailer tongue and which has a cable connected thereto and connected to the coupling component, is employed to draw the main body of the tongue into unison with the coupling component.

  • Patent number: 5183282
Abstract: An improvement over my launcher/retriever cradle for trailered boats and my trailered boat cradle is accomplished by combining a cradle governor with the invention, the cradle governor replacing the old telescoping push/pull rod member of the invention. The cradle governor is a "break-back", fold up/out cradle launching/retrieving device. This new governor is essentially constructed of two hinged sections of rigid elongate material, a rearmost end of one of the .sections being pivotally connected to the keel support platform member of the invention. An elongated extensible governor lift is pivotally connected to the forward end of the remaining governor section and the other end of the governor lift is pivotally connected at a forward location upon the trailer. Winching the cradle onto the trailer, the retriever cable associated with the winch being connected to the governor, causes the governor lift to fold the forward hinged section of the governor even beyond an up-right position.

  • Patent number: 5168828
Abstract: The Flag is attached to an ornamental halyard tube which is raised and lowered along a weather capped flagpole. A spring disposed within the tube limits the displacement of a ring which encircles a flag furling cord. A line for hoisting and lowering an appealing flag sheltering house along the flagpole is attached to the ring. Initial pulling upon the free end of the line displaces the ring furling the Flag. Continued pulling upon the line hoist the housing, the furled flag being received into an opening at the top of the housing, the housing finally mating with the cap of the weather capped flagpole. A second flag may be displayed by attaching the top corner thereof to the line and the bottom corner thereof to a weight which encircles the line.

  • Patent number: 5133149
Abstract: A marine crustacean trap that is more particularly designed to entrap live crabs one at a time. A cage portion of the trap has an elastically closed gate and a bait well is secured within the cage. Also within the cage, trip cords are arranged such that the cords interfere with crustacean access to the bait well. A trip mechanism is secured upon the top of the cage and the mechanism has a releasably secured float maintained upon a support by having a gate open latch and a pivotal trip lever together locking onto the float. A crustacean pulling upon a trip cord causes the trip lever to rotate and unlock from the float. Now tension upon the gate open latch causes the float to rotate up and over a small float stop member of the support. As the float rotates the gate closes and the latch is released from the float permitting the float to ascend to a water surface. A ring encircling the trap hauling line is also linked with the float.

  • Patent number: 5005852
Abstract: A separative trailer tongue having first and second assemblies united by a winching apparatus. The first assembly is a housing integral with a handle and a coupler. A bracket, spring return brace, rod stop and pulleys are within the housing. The brace supports the first assembly such that the second assembly can be pulled, lifted, aligned and united therewith. The second assembly has bifurcated bars sandwiching blocks. The blocks have longitudinally aligned apertures having a pull, lift, align rod slidingly disposed through the apertures. One end of a winch cable is attached at a tapered forward end of the rod. The cable now extends to and trains about the first assembly pulleys, the cable returning through an aperture at the tapered forward end of the rod, continuing to extend to a winching apparatus.

  • Patent number: 5004260
Abstract: A boat cradle is pushed from, and pulled onto, the bed of a combined trailer by launcher and retriever cabling in combination with a reversible drum winch and a telescoping push/pull rod. Longitudinal alignment of the cradle with the bed of the trailer is maintained by a folding stabilizer assembly. If desired, a telescoping stabilizer is substituted for the folding stabilizer component of the stabilizer assembly. The cradle has a buoyant multi-wheeled boat keel support platform and hand rails. A cradled vessel is weather protected by placing conventional light weight covered framing over the cradle. Alternatively, the vessel is protected by having an enclosure installed over the combined trailer.

  • Patent number: 4995187
Abstract: A fishing vessel device having open faced pulleys attached to a pivotal plate member of a traveling assembly. The traveling assembly is winched along a slide rail attached perpendicular to a pivotal cross tee support. Another open faced pulley is attached to the cross tee support such that this pulley is in a coplanar relationship with the traveling pulleys. The cross tee support is pivotally attached to a stanchion and the stanchion is mounted adjacent to the vessel gunnel. The buoy attached end of a crab pot hauling line is retained in a fork shaped device such that when the line is also trained about the open faced pulleys a crab pot can be recovered from the water and suspended within the work area of the vessel. Rotation of the pivotal plate member will result in dumping the hauling line from the traveling pulleys. Rotation of the cross tee support will result in the lowering of the overall height of the fishing vessel.

  • Patent number: 4972794
Abstract: A method for honoring the Flag and Nation for which it stands is accomplished by having a weather cap and protective flag housing upon a flag staff such that a cabling and winching system will, via a pulley and bar-ring supporting, spring-return, slidingly captured, internal staff insert, move the housing and insert in opposite directions along the staff, the housing enveloping the Flag, the Flag being furled along the staff by a flag attached, flying flag cord passing through the moving ring, until the housing mates with the weather cap, protecting the Flag. Reversing the winch lowers the housing, permits the spring-return insert to move, unfurling the Flag, thus honorably displaying the Flag.

  • Patent number: 4911459
Abstract: A cradle, having positive buoyancy, and wheels, at the stern, is launched and recovered by a push/pull rod assembly pivotally attached to the forward portion of the cradle platform. Cabling, looping a double pulley forward and a single roller assemble pulley aft, oppositely wound on a reversible drum winch, moves the push/pull rod. A folding stabilizer assembly, doubling as a walk-way between the trailer bed and cradle, is attached at the wing ends of a raised cross tee by pivotally conecting near the tops of two vertical members of the cross tee. Upon the trailer bed, two grooved, parallel rails maintain a close tolerance hold upon a sliding platform assembly. The folding stabilizer is also pivotally attached to this sliding platform.
