    Abstract: An addressing scheme for use with current-driven emissive displays requires that an N-row by M-column array of pixels be divided into K segments of N/K rows each. One transistor-controlled current driver is provided for each column of pixels within a segment, and all of a segment's current drivers are connected to a respective gate address line. The array is addressed by dividing a frame time into N/K “sub-frame” times. During the first sub-frame time, the current drivers of each segment are turned on in sequence, and the first row of each segment addressed. The remaining rows are addressed in this manner during subsequent sub-frame times. The segmenting and addressing scheme reduces the duty ratio required to drive the array by a factor of K, and reduces the number of transistors required to drive the array by a factor of N/K, when compared with comparably-sized passive matrix and active matrix displays, respectively.

    Abstract: An electrical connector for joining individual, electrically conductive wires, to a printed circuit board. The wires may be individual solid or stranded types. A contact, provided within the connector housing, is arranged with a first end forming an area for attaching the wire and with a second end arranged usually with female contacts for connecting to a header on the printed circuit board. The wires are stripped of any insulation and mechanically attached to a contact in the connector. The wire is placed between a pressure plate and an area of the contact. A screw is rotated forcing the pressure plate and the contact area together physically squeezing the wire so that the wire is securely attached to the contact area to provide a good electrical contact. The second end of the contacts forms a female cantilevered contact arranged to mate with a header of a row of male pins soldered to the printed circuit board.

    Abstract: A night vision goggle device is fabricated for consumer use. The device employs interpupillary and diopter adjustments for each eye of the user. The combined adjustment mechanism incorporates manually operable control knobs located on the housing and one knob for each of the eye pieces. Each control knob is capable of moving both in a forward and rear mode and in a transverse mode. The knob can provide diopter focus adjustment for a front to back motion and for lateral movement or transverse movement the control provides for interpupillary adjustment. The movement of the knob and the removal of pressure or force from the knob enables the optical assemblies to be locked in position by a friction fit.
