  • Publication number: 20220341752
Abstract: A computer implemented method of aligning a plurality of map segments having a local reference frame to a reference map having a global reference frame, each map segment overlapping a portion of the area represented by the reference map, the method comprising: for each map segment, independently generating one or more candidate alignments, aligning the map segment to the reference map; for each candidate alignment evaluating a cost function representing the likelihood that the candidate alignment is correct; based on the candidate alignments and associated cost functions, generating one or more candidate solutions, each candidate solution comprising a single candidate alignment for each map segment; for each candidate solution, evaluating a cost function based on at least the cost functions for each candidate alignment included in the candidate solution; and based on evaluation of the cost functions, determining alignment of the plurality of map segments.

  • Patent number: 10528178
Abstract: A touch panel includes a. plurality of electrodes arranged in an electrode array, wherein the plurality of electrodes includes a plurality of touch panel elements. A controller is configured to measure a charge that flows into or out of an electrode of the electrode array when the electrode is charged or discharged to a particular voltage, and configured to connect neighboring electrodes in the electrode array to a reference potential and to a voltage waveform. A sensing system makes a first measurement of the charge flowing into or out of the electrode while a set of neighboring electrodes are driven with the voltage waveform, and makes a second measurement while the set of neighboring electrodes are connected to the reference potential. The controller further is configured to distinguish conductive from non-conductive objects, based on a comparison of the two measurements.

  • Publication number: 20190308138
Abstract: Simple application of surface coating based on a formulation containing additive to remove air pollutants is disclosed. This improved surface wash, surface coating, windscreen wash, windscreen coating, is applied as a surface coating, wash or treatment to automotive vehicles, during regular periodic intervals, wherein vehicle is washed, and surface coating applied and also applied as window wash as needed. And as such method is very well distributed geographically. This invention avoids complexities involved in operation of existing methods, where heavy, expensive equipment and complex operation is prevalent. The invention is simple enough such that human error is effectively avoided.

  • Patent number: 6503256
Abstract: A micro-dermabrasion system and method in which a handpiece includes an axially aligned treatment orifice and laterally offset particle supply and waste removal channels. At least a portion of the particle supply channel is angularly offset relative to the waste removal channel so the particle stream impinges substantially on the center of the treatment orifice. The handpiece employs tapered couplers to permit easy attachment and detachment of particle supply and waste removal lines in a handpiece having a small diameter. The particle supply container is designed to be pre-filled by a supplier, and disposed of when empty without disassembly. The supply container is also constructed to permit controlled aeration of the particles before delivery to the handpiece to reduce clogging of the particle lines and to facilitate continuous adjustment of particle flow rate.

  • Patent number: 6432113
Abstract: A novel handpiece and system for abrasion of skin is disclosed. A short handpiece with a threadably movable tip is used. The opening in the tip is centered on the handpiece axis and a small diameter particle input channel and diameter larger output channel are both offset from the handpiece axis. A vacuum control opening is formed in the tip for easy control by the operator. Abrasive particles and removed tissue are applied to the interior of a cylindrical filter supported within a support can. The annular area between the can and filter is connected through a secondary emergency filter to a vacuum pump. The cylindrical filter can be a flexible filter bag. A large source of abrasive particles is coupled to the handpiece inlet and the filter is coupled to the handpiece outlet.

The opening in the tip is centered on the handpiece axis and a small diameter particle inlet channel and larger diameter outlet channel are both offset from the handpiece axis. A central blade or barrier within the tip divides the tip into two volumes which each communicate with the opening and respective ones of the inlet and outlet passages. A vacuum control opening is formed in the tip for easy control by the operator. Abrasive particles and removed tissue are applied to the interior of a cylindrical filter supported within a supporting container. The annular area between the container and this filter is connected through a secondary emergency filter to a vacuum pump. The cylindrical filter can be a flexible filter bag.
