  • Publication number: 20240099570
Abstract: Devices for maintaining a telescope during a minimally invasive surgery (MIS) technique such as laparoscopy or thoracoscopy. A telescope maintenance assembly is comprised of a disc and a dome. The disc is absorbent and includes a central aperture. The dome is hollow and includes an inlet port, a lower protrusion, and outlet ports which abut against the disc when attached thereto. To prepare the assembly for use, the disc is secured about a proximal port of a trocar and the lower protrusion is inserted through the central aperture, and an anti-fog solution is transmitted into and through the dome to wet the disc. After the disc is wetted, the wetted disc can be used by a surgeon or assistant to wipe debris from a lens or other optical component of the telescope without needing to remove the telescope from the trocar.

  • Patent number: 11927523
Abstract: In flow cytometry, particles (2) can be distinguished between populations (8) by combining n-dimensional parameter data, which may be derived from signal data from a particle, to mathematically achieve numerical results representative of an alteration (48). An alteration may include a rotational alteration, a scaled alteration, or perhaps even a translational alteration. Alterations may enhance separation of data points which may provide real-time classification (49) of signal data corresponding to individual particles into one of at least two populations.

  • Patent number: 8341225
Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for a user to construct a payload comprising content, such as multimedia, or references to content. The payload may be provided with further elements, such as a title or initial comments. The payload may be sent to any immediate contact of the user. Upon receipt by other users, the payload may be forwarded to any of the others' immediate contacts. Additionally, comments can be made by anyone in receipt of the payload for others in receipt of the payload to view. A social networking mechanism is provided, wherein a record is made for each forwarding of a payload and introductions can be made between individuals lying in the same forwarding chain of a payload. Immediate contacts can be collected into groups for ease in addressing. Teams of users can send and forward messages among themselves or to others outside of the team, according to predetermined rules and individuals' standing within the team. Users are provided with a sortable, filterable list of payloads sent to them.
